The first flowers of spring. Which plants are the first to meet the spring?

It's amazing that in winter a person rejoices in the white cloak of the earth, fluffy snowflakes falling from the sky, a hard frost, but as soon as the first month of spring comes, we suddenly feel tired of a black and white winter picture! The body craves heat and light, eyes - bright colors, and the soul every spring seems to be selected from the shell to meet the renewed world, which is reborn to a new life.

The first flowers of spring in the woods and meadows

In the forest, only the first thawed patches appeared, and life invisible to them is already boiling - different larvae and insects have awakened in the earth, the earth itself is ready to receive into its bosom every living creature, every small blade of grass. And among the islands of porous snow, the boldest flowers begin to appear - the snowdrops. Snowdrops are usually called all spring primroses, although the true snowdrop - galanthus - is only one of the many spring spring primroses. This is the very first flower in the spring, and it does not grow in all regions. The flower is like a small white lantern on a thin stalk. It can withstand temperatures of -10 degrees. Only in such cold it becomes brittle, like a thin glass. But it's worth looking out the sun, and galanthus comes to life.

Delicate snowdrops - the awakening of nature

In the legend of the Slavs it is said how once Winter-the old woman conceived not to let Spring come to earth. Flowers wilted with fear, one snowdrop did not get scared, opened his petals. The sun saw him, warmed everything with his warmth on the ground and freed the way to the beauty of Spring. Since that time, spring and snowdrop are inseparable.

The first flowers of spring, which in many areas are also called snowdrops, are nothing but a dream-grass, a crib or a chamber. They say that once the leaves of the lumbago were so large and wide that Satan, who was banished from paradise, could hide behind them. But Archangel Michael, having discovered his refuge, threw an arrow at him. And the leaves of the dream-grass remained bullet-cut into thin slices. Blossoms lumbago, too, even at sub-zero temperatures. The whole secret of this, it turns out, is in a flower cup. She, like a concave mirror, collects the sun's heat. And the temperature inside the cup is +8 degrees.

What other flowers appear in the first spring?

A little later, the snowdrop blossoms yellow, like the sun, spring Goris, or adonis. In some parts of the world, it is called an old-timer.

In the Russian villages, spring is a time when domestic birds begin to hatch nestlings. At this time it was strictly forbidden to bring home and adonis, and sleep-grass, it was believed that these flowers could harm future bird progeny.

The same first flowers of the spring name have different in different regions. This is due to the fact that the people, not knowing the botanical scientific names, gave the flowers their names.

The very first flowers in spring:

  • Spring;
  • anemone;
  • Goatee goose;
  • mother and stepmother;
  • dandelion;
  • lungwort;
  • grouse;
  • Periwinkles;
  • buttercup;
  • Viper onion;
  • Wild iris (in some rural areas, it is poetic name "cuckoo's tears," or "pikulyki").

The first flowers of spring do not spoil the luxury of their flowering for long. A few days will pass, and they drop their petals and go into a state of rest, or summer hibernation. During this time, they accumulate in the roots, often in bulbs, nutrients that will give them the strength to bloom before the spring.

Primrose and crocus - spring revival

In the garden areas and in the gardens, too, primroses-perennials, brothers of forest flowers, only cultivated, are the first to awaken. What kind of flowers appear first in the spring on the household plots?

First of all, this is a real primrose - a primrose. Its name is translated from Latin - "first". Blossoms the primrose with all the colors of the rainbow. In the people it is called sheep or golden clavicles. They say that these "keys" open the door to the summer.

And there is a superstition that the primrose knows how to open hidden treasures. In the fields supposedly sometimes appears a virgin in white robes and with a golden key in her hand. And if you destroy the primrose, then the flower gets a magical gift to find under the ground and open treasures.

And the royal primrose, which grows on the slopes of volcanoes, dissolves shortly before the eruption of the volcano, thereby warning people about the danger.

Simultaneously with the primula, and sometimes even before it, adorable crocuses open their blue eyes . True, there are crocuses and other colors - purple, white and even striped. Another name for crocus is saffron. That's what they call him in the Crimea. Before in nature these flowers were only yellow. This flower is mentioned in the Old Testament and in ancient medical treatises. It turns out that saffron refers to the oldest spices.

True, we do not call crocus crocuses, but marigolds. And they blossom much later, already at the height of summer.

Strictly handsome tulip

In spring, the beautiful tulip blossoms. In appearance, he is strict, but the color of his attire is sometimes the most frivolous! There is an ancient legend about the tulip. As if a bud of a yellow flower contained happiness, but no one could get to it, because the flower did not open. But one day this tulip picked up a child. His sinless soul, carefree laughter and sunny childish joy made a miracle - the bud opened.

Yellow tulip in the East is considered a flower of happiness, although we have a different interpretation. But red tulips are everywhere - a symbol of passionate love. Now many varieties of tulips have been bred. There is even an exotic black flower.

Hyacinth - a flower of faithfulness, happiness and sorrow

Another spring flower is hyacinth. His multi-colored inflorescences-sultans were to the liking of many gardeners. Hyacinth is a flower of fidelity, happiness and sorrow. And, of course, he has his own legend.

The God of Apollo had a favorite on earth - a simple boy named Hyacinth. Often they started sport competitions. Once Apollo threw the disc, and he flew to Hyacinth. The young man's blood spray sprinkled on the grass, where soon the lilac-red flowers that the ancient Greeks called hyacinths grew.

The flower quickly spread throughout the world and, thanks to its beauty and aroma, became a favorite in many countries. Only in France in the past, hyacinth was used "for disassembly" in palace intrigues. Sprinkled with poison flowers were put in the boudoir of the victim. The poison, along with essential oils, penetrated the human body and killed it.

If you look closely, you will see that the inflorescence of the hyacinth consists of many miniature lilies. During his "cultivation" the range of colors and shades widened, a double hyacinth was taken out by selection.

The narcissist Narcissus

In many gardens, the first messengers of spring are the narcissists. In some nationalities, a flower is considered a medicinal plant. Everyone knows the legend of the young Narcissa, who fell in love with himself, seeing his reflection in a transparent stream. It is this legend that is to blame for the fact that the narcissus has long been called the flower of narcissistic people.

Appearance even in flowers can be deceiving. The elegant look and gentle petals of the narcissus of many are misleading, make it consider fragile and vulnerable. Nothing like this! This flower is unpretentious, strong, and in the wild can successfully resist various rodents.

Lilies of the valley - light May greetings

Lily of the valley is an amazingly cute spring flower. White, as if made of fine porcelain bell-flowers, blossom on thin stems among large broad leaves. According to the Ukrainian legend, the flower grew on the spot where the tears of the girl fell, which waited for the mated man from a long hike.

The fact that almost every spring flower is associated with some legend, says that flowers always had a special meaning for a person. Now, when the time of superstition is gone, the spring flowers just bring joy after the winter cold, raise the mood, symbolize a new awakening of nature and secret desires.

The first flowers of spring are so good that they blossom, replacing each other as models on the podium. Their bright outfits fascinate the look, fill the air with incredible delicate fragrances. Flowers seem to say: "Wake up! Spring came!"
And although their bloom is short, but the smell and large amount of pollen attracts insects, primarily bees. The first spring flowers are almost all the honey-plants.

Now we know which first flowers bloom in the spring in the wild and in the flower beds of gardens and orchards.

Mimosa - touchy and cowardly

And remember, in the spring what are the first flowers appear everywhere on sale by March 8? Of course, touchy-mimosa! It is necessary only to touch a fluffy beauty, as she immediately shudders and hides her leaves. Here we are talking about a living, growing mimosa, and not about those bouquets that are sold in spring on every corner. They say that the same way the mimosa responds to the crafty person. And she "is afraid" of staying in the dark. Despite all this, mimosa is not a very capricious plant, but very fond of heat, and therefore it grows only in the south, in warm regions.

And did you know that mimosa is one of the types of acacia, and its correct name is "acacia silvery"?

Here comes the spring, the time of flowering. It's time when the air is filled with spring flavors. Each flower looks at us as if it wants to say something. Perhaps, if you listen carefully, you can understand what the flowers are saying?
