The film "The Kingdom of Curved Mirrors": actors, roles, plot, reviews

In the tale "The Kingdom of Curved Mirrors" the actors tell the young spectator the fascinating story of two girls who got into the world where "everything is the opposite". In this picture, Alexander Rowe starred many stars of Soviet cinema. Who can you see on the screens when watching a movie?

The creators of the film

In the picture "The Kingdom of Curved Mirrors" the actors were selected under the close supervision of the director of the fairy tale, Alexander Rowe.

Alexander Rowe is a magician who gave Soviet children a lot of good films: "Morozko", "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka", "Marya-Skilful Woman". The director shot exclusively fairy tales and did it so well that his creations were enjoyed even by adults.

The script for "The Kingdom of Curved Mirrors" was written by Vitaly Gubarev and Lev Arkadiev. Gubarev in his time also worked on the screen version of the fairy tale "In the far end of the kingdom." Arkadiev was not only a screenwriter, but also a professional writer, and also a journalist.

Music for the tale was written by Arkady Filippenko, who by that time already had experience of cooperation with Rowe during the production of the fairy tale "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka".

Filming took place in the Crimea near Yalta.

Short story

In the film "The Kingdom of Curved Mirrors" actors tell the story of Oli's girl who, by the will of fate, finds herself in the fairy-tale kingdom of the crooked mirrors and meets her twin Yalo. That completely reflects not only the appearance of Olya, but also her character. Soon the girl learns that everything in this new world has been missed through a crooked mirror: names are common, concepts of justice, honor and friendship.

Olya and Yalo decide to fight the injustice they see. They are trying to overthrow the powerful and greedy ministers, and most importantly, the stupid king of the kingdom - Jagupop 77th. Ministers of Jagupopa deceive not only their subordinates and their subordinate citizens, but also the king himself. In the struggle for power, they are ready to do much. Therefore, Ole and Yalo can not easily cope with them: the villains die in a fierce struggle with each other for power. Olya says goodbye to Yalo and returns home with complete triumph.

Judging by the reviews, the picture completely captures the attention of young spectators, watching the interesting adventures of the characters, the boys learn goodness and justice.

"The Kingdom of Curved Mirrors": actors. Twins Yukins

The role of Oli and her copies Yalo is performed by real twin sisters.

Olga Yukina, respectively, played Olya - a restless girl, a third-grader, who fought herself off, does not listen to her grandmother and chooses a lot. When she gets to the Kingdom of crooked mirrors, she meets there like two drops of water on herself like Yalu.

At first glance Yalo, played by Tatyana Yukina, is absolutely the same as Olya. But when critical moments come, Yalo does not show himself on the best side and shows Ole what she is unbearable in ordinary life. Nevertheless, the main characters are kind and selfless: they save the mirror Gurd, deal with the villains and successfully return home.

After filming in a fairy tale, Olga Yukina and her sister appeared one more time in the episode of the fairy tale "Morozko". This concludes their film career.

Tatyana Yukina and her twin Olga have worked almost all their lives in Intourist. Unfortunately, none of the girls ever entered the acting department.

Tatiana Barysheva as grandmother

T. Barysheva played the role of the kind and caring grandmother of Olga's girl.

Tatiana Barysheva stood almost at the origins of Soviet cinema - her first appearance in the film dates back to 1925. But the actress practically can not boast of the main roles. Baryshev can safely be called the queen of the episode.

The first more or less prominent role of the actress was the role of dentist in the comedy "The Foundling". The film was shot in 1939 by Tatyana Lukashevich and actually became a picture of one actress - the brilliant Faina Ranevskaya. Until now in everyday life they use the phrase of her heroine: "Mulia, do not make me nervous!"

Also Baryshev can be seen in the children's film "First-grader", where she again plays the grandmother of the main character, and in the comedy "Welcome, or No Trespassing."

A. Stapran as Gourde

Andrey Stapran in Alexander Row's fairy-tale embodied on the screen the image of a brave and courageous Gurd (that in translation for "human" language means "friend"). Gourd is a mirror, who refused to make false mirrors. For this, the ministers of Jagupop 77 imprisoned the boy in the tower. In the finale of the fairy tale, Ole and Yalo manage to rescue the boy.

Andrei Stapran, like the Yukin sisters, did not have an acting career. He appeared in the movies only two times: in "The Queen of the Curved Mirrors" and in "Morozko".

After school, the young man decided to enter the directing department of VGIK, which he managed. Subsequently, Stapran made a number of popular science and documentary films.

A. Kubatsky in the role of Yagupop on the 77th

A special charm was possessed by the character Jagupop 77th performed by Anatoly Kubatsky. The actor was able to accurately convey the idle talk and bombast of his character that it is simply impossible not to laugh at his stupidity.

Kubatsky, like Barysheva, was an actor of the old school. He began his film career in 1928 and was not spoiled with major roles. But Anatoly did not complain and very successfully continued to act in episodes.

Most often it can be seen in the tales of Alexander Row: in the "New Adventures of the Cat in Boots" he plays King Unylio, in the "Mary the Master" of Vodokrut XIII, in "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka" by Kuma Panas, and in "Morozko" Kubatsky played Ataman of the robbers.

But there were other pictures in the filmography of the actor: for example, in the comedy "Duenya" with Tatiana Vasilieva in the title role he played the abbot Pablo, and in the drama "Anna Karenina" directed by Zarhi - valet Matvey.

A. Tsinman in the role of Abaj

Arkady Tsinman in the fairy-tale Row appeared in the image of the opposite, green Prime Minister Abazh. As a toad is supposed to, Abazh is a slippery type that only dreams of appropriating power in the kingdom. First he conspires with Anidag and Nushrok to overthrow Jagupop, but then tries to eliminate even his accomplices as unnecessary competitors.

Arkady Tsinman began his career in the film industry as a projectionist. A little later he graduated from the studio at the Moscow Art Theater and in 1944 began acting in films, making his debut in the military drama "Moscow Sky". In the course of his long career, Qingman did not play a single major role. But the artist often cooperated with Alexander Rowe: Arkady Mikhailovich appeared in three of his fairy tales: Varvara-Krasa, Long Spit, Fire, Water and Copper Pipes, and The Kingdom of Curved Mirrors. The last role of Tsinman in the cinema was an episode in the Soviet-Italian film "Life is Beautiful".

A. Fait in the role of Nushrok

With the greatest difficulties in the process of filming had to face Andrew Feith, who played the role of Nushrok. At that time, the actor was about sixty years old, nevertheless in the frame he had to race at full speed on a horse on rough terrain, and even at the end of the way to fly over a horse. With a gallop, Veit managed on his own, but the final trick had to be performed by a stuntman.

The actor had a very colorful appearance, especially in his younger years: black hair, prominent cheekbones, eagle nose. Therefore, he often got the role of characters with negative charisma: the Germans, basmachi, robbers. It is noteworthy that the central characters began to be offered to Faytu at an advanced age: at the age of 63 he played Magribintsy in the fairy tale "The Magic Lamp of Aladdin", and at 69 - Ignaty Lyakhovsky in Privalov Million. Following was the role of the master Bolotnikova in the melodrama "Potter's Circle", and a few years later the actor was gone.

Other performers of roles

This time it was not without the star of all Soviet tales: actor George Millar played in the "Kingdom of Curved Mirrors" three roles at once: the Most Important Ceremoniesmaster, the Dowager Queen and the Carrier. Millar starred in absolutely all the tales of Rowe: mostly the artist played Babu-yaga, but there were also roles in his piggy bank, the king of Gorokha, the royal sleeping bag Chikhir and many other characters.

The role of the beautiful, but mean Anidag went to Lydia Vertinskaya, which can also be seen in the fairytales "Sadko", "New Adventures of the Cat in Boots" and in the drama "Don Quixote".

The role of Bar (slave) was played by Ivan Kuznetsov, who is known for the role of Shcherbin in the film "The Sky of Moscow" and the role of Kondrat in the film "The Army of the Wagtail".

One can not fail to mention one more master of the episode - Tamara Nosova. The actress brilliantly played in many Soviet paintings: "Carnival Night", "The Wedding of Balzaminov", "Hello, I'm Your Aunt."

Also in the frame you can see Pavel Pavlenko ("Morozko"), Alexander Khvylyu ("Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka"), Valentina Bryleeva ("Love of the Earth"), Alexander Aleshin ("Treasure Island"), Vyacheslav Gostinsky ("The Stowaway Passenger" ) And the Faith of the Altai ("Mary the Master").
