The medicine "Paracetamol" is the most popular and, most importantly, a safe preparation with antipyretic and analgesic qualities. It is available in various dosage forms that are suitable for any occasion - tablets, suppositories, syrup (suspension) and capsules. Due to these qualities, it is often used in the treatment of children and adults (especially those who do not tolerate other medications). The drug "Paracetamol" (syrup and candles) has a very mild effect, so it is recommended for very young children who have other drugs that are contraindicated. However, before using in newborns, you should first consult with your doctor.

The drug "Paracetamol" (baby syrup), the instruction confirms this, is produced in a bottle of 50 or 100 ml capacity, made of dark glass or plastic. The bottle is placed in a cardboard box and is equipped with a measuring cap or spoon.

The syrup composition contains 0.024 grams of paracetamol per 1 milligram of liquid. Additional substances - sorbitol, sugar, propylene glycol, citric acid, sodium trisubstituted citric acid, ethyl alcohol, riboflavin, sodium benzoate, aromatic additives, water.

Applicable in the following cases:

  • As an antipyretic and anti-inflammatory in inflammatory-infectious diseases, viral infections. The main indication is fever.

The recommended amount of the drug depends on the weight of the child. A very small syrup can be added to a bottle of tea and water.

One teaspoon - about 5 milliliters - contains 120 milligrams of paracetamol. The recommended dose, calculated for a single dose, is 10-15 milligrams per kilogram of weight. For children, the maximum dose per day per kilogram of weight should not exceed 60 milligrams.

The following single doses are recommended for children:

  • Starting from two months and up to one year - from two to five milliliters or from half to one teaspoon, or 60-120 milligrams;
  • Children from one year to six - from five to ten milliliters or from one to two teaspoons, or 120-240 milligrams;
  • From 6 to 14 years - from 10 to 20 milliliters or from two to four teaspoons, or 240-480 milligrams.

The duration of treatment in ordinary cases is three to five days. It depends on the severity of the disease. A longer course is not recommended for children.

Increase the daily dose of the drug or the duration of treatment can be only after a medical consultation.

If there is severe renal failure, the time between taking the remedy should not be less than eight hours.

  • Hypersensitivity to paracetamol.
  • Impaired kidney and liver function.
  • Various diseases of the blood.
  • Chronic alcoholism.
