The "Nifuroxazide" drug describes the instruction as a preparation related to the type of intestinal antiseptics. It is able to fight microbes, block the activity of dehydrogenases, inhibit the cycle of tricarboxylic acid and respiration of cells. In addition, it deactivates the synthesis of the protein that occurs in the microbial cell, and reduces the production of toxins by pathogenic microorganisms.

The adoption of a standard therapeutic dose increases bacteriostatic activity, and high volumes have a bactericidal effect.

The amount of liquid administered, as well as the method of its administration, should correspond to the severity of the disease (diarrhea), as well as to the age and condition of the patient. The standard volume for an adult is at least two liters per day.

During the therapy it is recommended to adhere to a special diet - not to use hard-to-digest and spicy food, juices, thermally unprocessed fruits and vegetables.

Throughout the course of treatment, the drug should refrain from taking alcoholic beverages, since in this case there is a risk of a disulfiram-like reaction, which consists in exacerbation of diarrhea, vomiting, heat of the upper torso and face, hyperemia, tachycardia, tinnitus and difficulty breathing.
