The dog has hair loss: causes, treatment

Very often, many owners of dogs, both long-haired and short-haired breeds ask the same question: "Why does a dog get hair?" There is no unequivocal answer to this question. Most often, a small loss of hair in animals is associated with a natural process - molting. Some breeds of dogs during it lose a significant amount of wool, others - less. There are animals that have a "planned" change of hair in spring and autumn.

If a dog has a hair for a long period of time, irritations appear on the skin, it is necessary to sound an alarm. Such symptoms can signal the initial stage of a disease.

The main causes of hair loss

Improper diet

Some dog owners translate their pets exclusively into dry food. This is a big mistake, no matter how good the feed, there are not enough minerals and vitamins responsible for the safety of the wool cover.

Allergy

If your pet is often itchy and the dog has hair loss, then, most likely, it is associated with food allergy. The reason can only be in dry food, as when taking natural food, such symptoms do not arise.

Hormonal imbalance

If you are abusing birth control pills, a dog can have a hormonal failure. The result can be very sad - baldness and violation of other functions of the animal's body.

Decreased immunity

After any disease is transferred, the animal's immunity decreases, which can also cause hair loss.

Wrong selection of hair care products

Very often the owners of animals do not adhere to the elementary rules concerning bathing of dogs, and wash them with usual shampoos. It is not right. Such means will not make the animal's fur shiny and beautiful, but, on the contrary, will lead to its loss. There are other reasons that affect the dog's hair loss, for example, various diseases.

Diseases that affect hair loss

Infectious diseases

These include ringworm caused by a fungus. With such a disease, the dog gets the hair in places. This is a contagious disease, besides it is easily transmitted to a person.

Skin parasites

These include fleas and withers. A dog can catch them from another dog. From the cat skin parasites are not transmitted.

Eczema

They are ill with obese and elderly animals. As a result, the dog's hair falls out in clumps. There is no consensus about the appearance of this disease, but it is known that it is not contagious.

Furunculosis

This is a disease of large breeds of dogs when the hair follicles become inflamed. The treatment must first of all be aimed at establishing the true cause of loss of hair to animals. In some cases, a laboratory examination of hair follicles, which the veterinarian takes with scraping, is simply necessary.

In order not to have a protracted or extraordinary molt, we must ensure that the ration of the animal is balanced and saturated with a sufficient number of minerals and vitamins. Be careful: enough - does not mean too much, it is important not to allow avitaminosis, which also leads to hair loss. Do not forget to also treat wool with insecticides from time to time.

In some cases, when dogs undergo surgery or a serious illness, immunostimulants are prescribed.

Wool to the dog serves not for beauty, but for protection from external influence of the environment, and also it is a kind of indicator, "talking" about the health status of your pet. Therefore, create favorable conditions for keeping the animal, so that your faithful friend has strong health and shiny hair.
