The actors "Escape from prison": who is who?

This year, the American television company Fox announced the restart of the incredibly popular series of the past decade called "Escape from prison." The series consists of four seasons, numbering 81 episodes. From 2005 to 2009 and until now it was believed that the story of the characters is over, especially since one of the main characters was killed in the final series. However, all the actors of "Escape from prison" confirmed their participation in the upcoming season, so one can only guess what new plot twists the script writers will make and refresh the memory of key and minor characters, as well as the actors playing them.

Remembering the plot

The series "Escape from prison" reveals the story of two brothers. The eldest of them, Lincoln Burrows, after being convicted of a murder he did not commit, is awaiting execution in a high security prison. And his younger brother Michael Scofield intentionally robbed the bank to get into the same prison and get Lincoln out of there. Despite his insane venture, Michael knows what he is doing, because he, many years ago, took part in the construction of this prison. To facilitate the task, he applied an unusual tattoo to his body before the crime, in which he encoded communication schemes, names, addresses and many other things. But the clever plan is under threat because of the powerful "Company", which has truly enormous opportunities and spheres of influence. Anyway, but the heroes were able to break free with several more prisoners. Thus, the main task set in the series "Escape from prison" was completed, the first season of which was so popular that the creators decided to continue the adventures of the brothers. They had to repeat their achievement more than once.

Key Characters

Michael Scofield, a brilliant engineer with a tattoo that became the hallmark of the series, was played by the British Wentworth Miller. The actor was approved for the role very quickly, as he conquered the creator of the project Paul Sherring with its mystery, although he came to casting only a week before the filming began. Before "Escape" Miller flashed in episodes of many serials and even in the film "Another World", but he had no serious roles, but after the show he gained worldwide popularity. His hero in the series is a good guy who went to a fictitious crime for the sake of his brother, in whose innocence he is certain. Michael became a creative genius due to a deep shock in his childhood.

Dominic Purcell, unlike his screen brother, initially did not impress the creators with his appearance, but three days before filming he appeared on the stage absolutely bald and proved that the role of Lincoln Burrows is intended for him. And behind the shoulders of the actor already had roles in high-profile film projects, such as "Blade 3", "Mission Impossible 2" and "Equilibrium". Lincoln was the opposite of his brother, not being a respectable citizen, he did a lot of bad things, so it is not surprising that the candidacy of Burroughs was right for him to substitute.

Beautiful half of the series

No less interesting are the other actors, "Escape from prison." Sarah Wayne Callis received the role of Sarah Tancredi, a physician at the Fox River Prison, who had a difficult past connected with alcohol and drugs. Initially, Michael wanted to bring her to her escape plan, but in the process they had a closer relationship. The actress herself did not have a relationship with the producers, and she left the show after the second season, but thanks to the requests of the fans, she returned to the series in season 4.

There is another important woman in the life of Lincoln and Michael in the series "Escape from prison." Season 1, as, indeed, the 2nd, would not have been possible without Veronica Donovan, the lawyer and the girlfriend of the brothers, who played Robin Tunney. But in the 3-4th season she was replaced by another burning brunette, beautiful Jodi Lin O'Keefe, although she came to the other side, because she embodied the image of the company's agent Gretchen Morgan, which became a real headache for the brothers.

There are a lot more male characters in the series, which is not surprising, because we are talking about places of detention. The series "Escape from prison" is famous for its delightful selection of actors, both negative and positive. As for the latter, the brothers had allies, and one of them became Fernando Sucre, performed by Amori Nolasco. Fernando is in prison for robbing a store to buy a ring for his girlfriend.

A very interesting and ambiguous character, the former boss of the mafia John Amburtzi, was played by the famous actor of Swedish descent Peter Stormare.

A young but equally important hero in the series is Al Jay Burrows, the son of Lincoln. His role is played by Marshall Ollman.

Bad Boys

The actors "Escape from prison" who played the characters on the other side, and in other words, the villains, are also worthy of special attention. One of the main antagonists and the most cruel and frightening people in the series is the maniac pedophile Theodore Bagwell, or Ty-Bag. This role was magnificently embodied on the screen by the famous actor Robert Nepper, on whose account a large number of successful projects both before and after the "Escape". Intellectual from the FBI Alexander Mahoney is another recognizable actor William Fichtner. And the image of the security chief, Captain Brad Bellic, was created on the screen by Wade Williams, who is not very known to the public, and after the show almost stopped shooting for unknown reasons. Special agent Paul Kellerman, a man with a specific and ambiguous line, played Paul Adelstein, originally auditioned for the role of Lincoln Burroughs.

Interesting fact

The tandem of Miller and Purcell was so organically looked on the screen that they were invited to one more series for teamwork. The actors "Escape from prison" embodied the images of the supervillains of Captain Cold and the Heat wave in a new series on the comics of the DC universe called "Flash." And also the two heroes will move permanently to one more upcoming TV project of the CW channel, which is the spin-off of the two TV series "Strela" and "Flash". It will be called "Legends of Tomorrow".
