Symptoms of the disease osteochondrosis of the thoracic spine

Osteochondrosis is an insidious disease. The causes of its occurrence are the destruction of the intervertebral discs, as well as the joints and ligaments of the spine. The danger of the disease consists in the fact that the symptoms of osteochondrosis can manifest not only in pain in the spine. Therefore, you need to carefully treat the emerging pain and not engage in self-medication.

I say this, as the saying goes, "with knowledge of the matter," because I've experienced it several times. One night my heart ached: aching pain in the heart, pain in my left hand, ringing in my ears. Sedatives did not help. The ambulance brigade diagnosed the osteochondrosis of the thoracic spine. An injection of an anesthetic took off an imaginary heart attack.

Indeed, patients with a diagnosis of osteochondrosis of the thoracic spine often come to see a cardiologist.

However, osteochondrosis can give painful sensations not only in the heart area. Compressive pain behind the sternum, between the shoulder blades, acute pain during breathing. Feeling of an "iron grip", hindering the movement: neither breathe, nor swallow, nor turn.

In the thoracic spine are concentrated vegetative centers, which regulate internal organs. Therefore, osteochondrosis of the thoracic spine can provoke symptoms of other diseases. The patient may have suspicions of acute cholecystitis, acute appendicitis, intestinal colic.

Pain syndrome, which causes osteochondrosis of the thoracic spine, can be of a gastrological nature. Pain appears in the epigastric region.

Often in patients, several parts of the spine are affected, and pain gives cervical chest osteochondrosis. Symptoms of the disease with damage to the cervical spine are manifested in the following.

Basically, the pain syndrome captures the area of the neck, shoulders, arms, neck. More often pains arise at once in several places. Headaches, impaired vision, loss of consciousness accompany cervical osteochondrosis.

In acute attacks of osteochondrosis, you should immediately seek medical help.

When the pain syndrome is removed, you need to think about prevention. In patients with a diagnosis of chest osteochondrosis, treatment begins with exercise.

Often too lazy to take care of yourself. However, even the school warm-up that we performed at the physical education class can help and prevent the onset of acute attacks. The main thing is constancy.

Simple exercises support the spine. These are the slopes of the head, twists of the trunk, not sharp rotational movements of the hands, torso of the trunk forward and down, squats, feet with legs. All exercises should be done calmly, without sudden movements.

A great exercise - to hang on the crossbar. The spine gradually stretches, releasing the intervertebral discs.

Another exercise - "kitty." Do it slowly. Lie on the floor, hands stretched forward along the head. Slowly we bend our back, lifting our head up and pulling our arms up. Fix a new position: the lower part of the trunk lies on the floor, the upper part of the trunk is raised, you lean on your hands. Now slowly go back to the starting position. Then we bend to the other side. Slowly raise the pelvis, head down. We fix a new position: the body forms an arch, a support only on the arms and legs. To return to the starting position too slowly.

An effective exercise for the treatment of osteochondrosis is walking around the room on four limbs: on the hands and feet, the trunk is arched.

These exercises are slow, the load increases gradually. In no case can not overextend the spine.
