Steam boilers are divided into low-pressure boilers with a steam temperature of at least 120 ° C with an excess pressure of up to 0.07 MPa (0.7 kgf / cm2), which are not subject to registration in Rostekhnadzor and steam boilers with an operating pressure of more than 0.07 MPa (0 , 7кгс / см2), which are subject to registration in Rostekhnadzor. The enterprise owner of the boiler house (industrial steam generator) in this case needs to have a staff of trained personnel who must periodically pass the re-certification, and steam boilers, in accordance with the regulations, re-registration.

Steam boilers are made on different types of fuel: coal, firewood, wood production waste, diesel fuel, fuel oil, gas, electricity.

Steam boilers, first of all, are chosen from the point of view of economy bases, depending on the region and availability of cheap fuel. In the Kemerovo region it is economically advantageous to use steam generators on coal, Krasnoyarsk Krai on firewood, in the Central region on gas, in Chukotka on diesel fuel.

Industrial steam generators, in contrast to steam boilers, are supplied assembled and do not require installation. It takes a short time to put them into operation. As a rule, all start-up and adjustment works can be carried out within 1-2 days.

Steam boilers are supplied disassembled and require the installation of auxiliary equipment. They must have a connection to the feedwater with the following indicators:

- carbonate hardness, mg. Eq-l, no more than 3

- iron content, mg-l, not more than 0.1

In case of deviation of the above-mentioned parameters, it is necessary to select the chemical water treatment equipment. For deironing water, the deironing station, and for softening water - a water softener (water treatment plant). For steam boilers to be registered in Rostekhnadzor, these requirements are mandatory. For low-pressure steam boilers, these requirements are recommendatory in order to extend the life of the boilers.
