"Skoda Yeti" - disadvantages and advantages

The Czech miracle called "Škoda Yeti" appeared on the world market quite recently. The manufacturer himself positioned his novelty as a crossover, but in reality this is something between a station wagon and a city SUV. Despite such strange features, the car has become widespread in the territory of Russia. Many car owners have already had time to evaluate all its features, and today we will consider what disadvantages Shkoda Yeti has, and what are its advantages.

And at once we pass to the advantages. The first thing that attracts in the car "Skoda Yeti" - bundling and prices. There are more than enough variants of crossover performance (3 petrol engines for choice and 3 transmissions are offered on the Russian market). Moreover, each buyer can optionally choose any electronic device or elite lining. If we calculate, we will get about 18 modifications of the SUV. The price of the car (740 thousand rubles) is also tempting, but the cost of luxury equipment (almost 1.5 million rubles) is already clearly overstated. But all the same, the quality of the "Czech" assembly is much higher and the Volga Automobile Plant has something to strive for. Also worth noting is the good protection of the bottom from mechanical damage - the engine compartment is reliably protected by an aluminum shield. Although it is unlikely to save him from a water hammer, but more about this later.

What are the shortcomings of Skoda Yeti?

Unfortunately, the novelties are also lacking. Let's start with the bodywork. The first flaw that catches your eye is the "naked" roof. There is clearly not enough spoiler, which would not only improve the aerodynamics, but also cleaned the rear window from dirt (thanks to the same aerodynamic flow). In general, aerodynamics was not able to correct even the last restyled "Skoda Yeti" (2013). Test drive showed that after 200-300 kilometers of run on domestic roads the car becomes completely dirty and ugly.

But this is not all features of the new crossover "Skoda Yeti". Disadvantages lie in the inside of the machine. The first thing that meets the driver is the front panel trim. Its properties are very tough and unpleasant to the touch. The same trend is observed in the rear of the car (acoustic shelf). The Skoda Yeti also has drawbacks in the center console: the climate control buttons are clearly reduced. Illumination in the cabin is present, but for some reason it is not placed on the visors (a trifle, but it would be nice). Head restraints on the driver's seat are very tight and poorly regulated. And one more, the last disadvantage is the poor protection of the engine from the water hammer. Normal protection is installed only near the windshield. All the rest remains open before puddles and rain.

Looking at the ratio of pros and cons, you can say for sure that the crossover "Skoda Yeti" needs a lot of improvements. Indeed, the quality model will not even appear in a year. Although if you compare it with domestic counterparts, then Russian models have someone to take an example from. In the future, you can expect a more advanced crossover.
