Shuydin Mikhail Ivanovich: biography

Shuidin Mikhail Ivanovich - a famous circus artist of the Soviet Union, People's Artist of the RSFSR. The popularity of the clown was so great that the audience often came to the circus only to see the performance of the duo Shuidin and Nikulin. But at the same time, not all viewers knew that Mikhail Ivanovich was a hero of the war.

Beginning of biography

Mikhail Ivanovich Shuidin, whose biography begins on September 27, 1922, was from the village of Kazachya, which is located in the Tula region.

Father was a village shepherd, and his mother a simple worker.

It so happened that the future circus was left without a father at an early age. Soon Shuidin Mikhail Ivanovich, whose family was deprived of a breadwinner, moved with his mother Elizaveta Grigoryevna to Podolsk in search of a better life.

In the city they settled in a house on the street. Kalinina, 28, apt. 89, from the State Cement Plant. Michael went to school-seven-year number 10 at the plant. Here, the boy has a propensity for creative work: in parallel with studying in school, Misha is visited by the House of artistic education of children. Here he tries himself in different qualities: he participates in theatrical productions, plays drummer in the ensemble, engages in acrobatics, performs in amateur performances.

After school, Shuidin entered the factory factory (FZU) for the specialty "locksmith-lekalschik", which ends in 1938. But the craving for circus art proved to be stronger than the work profession, an eighteen-year-old boy goes to the State College of Circus Art (GUCI).

The outbreak of war disrupts all Shuidin's plans: he is sent to the factory number 187, they issue a reservation from conscription to the army. However, Mikhail did not like such a prospect, he asked to go to the front. In the end, in May 1942, the military enlistment office sent the guy to the Gorky Tank School, which he graduated with honors. Lieutenant Mikhail Shuidin is sent to the front.

War in the life of an artist

At the front, Shuidin Mikhail Ivanovich participates in the environment of the 6th Wehrmacht Army. In April 1943, he was appointed commander of the T-34 legendary tank.

The command and comrades mark the exceptional heroism of Shuidin. During the fighting, Mikhail Ivanovich thirteen times was in a burning tank (in memory of these terrible minutes on the face of the brave commander there were burns, which he later carefully concealed), received a severe concussion, after which he spent almost a year in the hospital.

During the most bloody war, Shuidin liberated the left-bank Ukraine, crossed the Berezina, Naroch, Dnieper, participated in Operation Bagration (already in the rank of Senior Lieutenant). I came to Berlin.

Heroism of tanker Shuydin

Already in August 1943, Mikhail Ivanovich Shuidin displayed heroism when counterattacking the advancing Nazis.

On August 19, during the reconnaissance in the vicinity of Sukhoy Yar, four Soviet tanks, including Mikhail Shuidin's crew, met with the fascist PzKpfw IV tanks. As a result of the battle, two enemy tanks and an anti-tank gun were destroyed by Soviet tankmen.

Particularly distinguished Shuidin in the release of Udovichenko - the Ukrainian village. For the skill and courage shown, the brave tankman is awarded the Order of the Red Star.

And in August 1944, Shuidin was ordered: near the village of Zhagare to block the way to the enemy, who tried to break out of the Baltic boiler.

Shuidin ably organized an ambush. The first shots set fire to several self-propelled guns of the enemy. Within 26 hours, Shuidin's unit repulsed six attacks of enemy tanks and infantry. Seventh, the decisive attack was decided to reflect the oncoming battle. In this battle the machine of Mikhail Ivanovich was set on fire, and he received severe burns and concussion.

For this fight, he was introduced to the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, but for an unknown reason the star of the Hero was replaced with the Order of the Red Banner.

Postwar biography

After the end of the war, Shuydin continued his studies at the GUCI in the acrobatics department. However, the hands burned on the front forced him to re-qualify: he studies the art of an eccentric acrobat. During his studies, Mikhail Ivanovich worked as a clown, which he greatly liked. As a result, Shuidin decides to study at the Clownery Studio of the Moscow Circus (Tsvetnoy Boulevard).

Competition for admission to the studio was huge - about three hundred people. The popularity of the studio was explained by the fact that the teacher was the famous clown Mikhail Rumyantsev (Pencil). Three rounds of the contest was held only by Shuidin and two more.

The talented student immediately liked Pencil, and in May 1949, Mikhail Ivanovich Shuidin-clown together with Yuri Nikulin first entered the arena of the Kharkov circus.

Experienced teacher Rumyantsev immediately drew attention to the fact that these two novice clowns are perfectly combined on the arena.

Time has shown that Pencil was not mistaken - this duo became the most enduring in the world history of circus art.

Misha and Yurik

Under such pseudonyms, the duo Mikhail Shuidin and Yuri Nikulin began to perform. The duo existed for more than 30 years, but it was a duet of excellent partners in the arena, and outside it they almost did not communicate.

The reason for such a relationship was hidden in the difference in their views on life. Even common themes did not become the subject of their conversations, although on stage they were half-eyed enough to understand the partner's idea.

At the beginning of their work there was even some rivalry, hidden from prying eyes. The reason for this was the leading position of Yuri Nikulin: they worked the same way, but Yurik received 100 rubles more, he was already a deserved artist of the RSFSR, and Misha was just an artist, Yurik received the People's Artist of the RSFSR, and Misha - Honored Artist of the RSFSR (after long efforts of his own Partner).

Shuidin Mikhail Ivanovich was often angry when famous people came to their dressing room and praised only Nikulin, not noticing at the same time it. Of course, all this could not but affect their relationship: they even quarreled, especially when Mikhail Ivanovich, in a strong drink, could disrupt the performance, rude to Nikulin's wife. But all this usually did not last long.

Arist of the circus and cinema

Studies in the school and work at the plant were not in vain for Mikhail Ivanovich. Smartness and ability to handle the instrument were also useful in the work of the clown.

Once, as an actor of the circus, Shuidin saved the number of the famous illusionist Emil Kio: he made for Kio a new stunt box in exchange for the broken assistant.

According to the recollections of Yuri Nikulin, Shuydin himself in most cases prepared the props for the circus number.

Shuydin starred in three films (Clowns and Children, The Little Fugitive, Without Fear and Reproachment) and two serials ("How the Idols Walked", "The Great Clowns"). In the series, the artist played himself.

Mikhail Ivanovich was a very sensitive artist whose psychology craved ranks.

After all, this meant a higher rate, and touring, and a formal recognition of the merits of the artist. By the way, most creative people suffer from this.

Shuidin as a person

Shuidin Mikhail Ivanovich was always very modest. An example of this feature can be a lot of cases.

When he was replaced with the star of the Hero of the Soviet Union for the Order of the Red Banner (this was found out by journalists many years later), Shuidin Mikhail Ivanovich, whose photo along with Yuri Nikulin was a kind of visiting card of the Moscow circus, did not want to seek revision of the award performance.

In continuation of the theme of military awards, we can say that Shuidin was not seen in the orders: he did not wear them, he considered it as a show-off.

Tens of years, already an Honored Artist of the RSFSR (appropriated in 1969) and People's Artist of the RSFSR (awarded in 1980), Mikhail Ivanovich went to work from afar (five hours drive). Modesty did not allow the famous artist to "knock his fist" to somehow change the situation.

Conclusion

In August 1983, Mikhail Ivanovich Shuidin died. The cause of death is a long, long illness.

A great artist, a war hero at the Kuntsevo Cemetery in Moscow, was buried.

In memory of the famous clown duo there is a monument to Mikhail Ivanovich Shuidin and Yuri Vladimirovich Nikulin.

Unfortunately, in the Republic of Belarus, where Shuidin was burning, until now there is no street named after his name, there is no memorial plaque.

The cause of his father continues the children of Mikhail Ivanovich Shuidin - Andrei and Vyacheslav. They perform the same reprises that the duo of Misha and Eureka once showed.
