Kuntsevo Cemetery - Necropolis of the Soviet era

The cemetery is a mournful place. Everyone, passing through his gate, involuntarily will think about the temporary stay on the earth's surface and about the eternal rest that is to come to each of the living people.

Before God all are equal, but the order in our imperfect world is established by people. Therefore, the dead are buried in different ways. And it is good, if the organizers of the funeral event are guided by those merits before the society, which the deceased gained during his lifetime. It happens differently when the question is solved solely for money.

Today they do not bury it anymore. There is a columbarium, it is possible to install an urn with ashes.

Kuntsevo cemetery in Moscow is not considered the most prestigious burial place, it is ahead of the absurd at first glance rating Novodevichye, Vagankovskoe and, possibly, some others. However, the latter can not be called. A lot of famous people are buried here. It rarely comes idle onlookers, only dedicated fans visit the place of the last resting of their idol.

Located Kuntsevo cemetery in the west of the capital. Once this place was not Moscow, here stood the village of Spasskoe with its churchyard. In the XVII century, the first dead men fell into this land. They sang them in the Church of the Savior on Setuni, hence the first name (Setunskoye), which lasted until the twenties of the last century. The name arose as a derivative of Kuntsev, a city that later became a Moscow district.

During the existence of the Russian Empire, the Kuntsevo Cemetery took in its land many wonderful sons and daughters of our country, both famous and ordinary, with nothing special that was not famous. Historically, two parts - the old and the new - formed. Today its area exceeds 16 hectares.

The old Kuntsevo cemetery sheltered the author of "Neznaika" NN. Nosov and known to those who remember the seventies, journalist Tatyana Tess. Here is buried the tragically dead in the ninetieth reporter Dmitry Kholodov.

With the author of the memoirs of Stalin's camps, VT Shalamov, the inflexible Bolsheviks, including GM Malenkov, are no longer arguing here. Next to the graves of soldiers who gave their lives in the fight against fascism, lie the scouts - a member of the "Oxford Five" Kim Philby and Ramon Mercader (Lopez), whose ice ax did not flinch, piercing Leon Trotsky's skull . The memorial to the defenders of the Motherland is crowned by a military station.

It is difficult to list all famous cultural figures, for whom the last abode was the Kuntsevo cemetery. Graves of celebrities are in its new part.

Here everyone can visit those who made up the color of Soviet art. Actors Yevgeny Morgunov, Gleb Strizhenov, Alexander Kaidanovsky, Zinoviy Gerdt, Valentin Filatov, Vladislav Dvorzhetskiy coexist with musicians and bards Yuri Vizbor, Valery Obodzinsky, Yevgeny Martynov, Zhenya Belousov, songwriter Mikhail Matusovsky. Here the film directors Protazanov, Gaydai and Basov were resting. The great hockey player Kharlamov is their company.

So through the centuries rural Setunsky, and later Kuntsevo cemetery became a real necropolis, who collected the remains of many famous people in their land.
