The history of the Russian-language Internet begins with "Rambler" - the first search engine Runet. And she begins with the Pushchino Scientific Center, in which a team of like-minded people developed the first Russian search engine. In such a team Sergei Lysakov worked.

Biography

Sergei Lysakov's parents worked as geologists. Therefore, Sergei was born in the north-west of Romania - in Transylvania, in 1957. Three months later the family left for Yessentuki, where Sergei's grandfather lived. Father continued to work on the expedition, which was engaged in exploration of uranium deposits.

Boy Sergey often went with his father in geological parties. "Geologists had all kinds of lamps and transistors, interesting pieces of iron," recalls Sergei Lysakov. That's why, perhaps, the hobby of radio electronics began. How many remembers himself, constantly made all sorts of electronic contraptions.

Correct vector

In incomplete 16 years he graduated from school. At that time, endless experiments were conducted in education, so that it could be completed in 15 years. With the school was lucky. Their teachers were brought up by personalities, says Sergei Lysakov. Personal life, therefore, was successful, that it was in school that the vector of further development was set.

The teaching staff was very strong. The physicist came to school from the university, and often supplemented his subject with philosophy. Forced to think, analyze and draw conclusions. The stories taught by people who have seen a lot in life, passed the war. Often beyond the program came out and lessons in mathematics. Education and first job

The first specialty - the regulator of radio equipment, received at the plant, where immediately after school worked a year. The plant produced equipment for research related to isotopes. In the team, all employees constantly invented something. Then there was the MAI, where Sergey Lysakov studied at the Faculty of Radio Electronics of Aircraft. The institute also had a unique circle of contacts from teachers and students, which was very useful for the development of further knowledge and consciousness.

The main enterprise for the department of radio electronics was the NGO Astrofizika. It was there that Sergei Vladimirovich managed to participate for the first time in the revolutionary direction, at that time, in the creation of a laser cannon. Then they had to create their own lenses based on crystals. In a word, I personally tried and saw many breakthrough technologies.

Science Center

In 1980, after graduation, the Institute of Biochemistry and Physiology of Microorganisms in Pushchino works. There there was a memorable for Sergey a meeting with adherents, among them was Dmitry Kryukov. Over time, a team of not indifferent to all new and talented people began to form.

Since 1987, Sergei Lysakov heads the computer center in the same place, in the IBPM. In that year, work was begun on the creation of a collection of microorganisms. The role of their team was to give the project a program and technological basis. Among other things, it was a task to ensure communication with scientific resources, with colleagues abroad. That's when the first IP-channel was laid.

The network was built with Protivino nuclear engineers working at CERN. In parallel, a base of strains of microorganisms was created, which became part of the international collection. To get a dedicated channel at that time is impossible, but thanks to the director of their scientific center, it still managed.

In those years, science had a hard time. It was necessary to somehow survive, and in 1991 the employees of the center created the company Stack, which was engaged in the development of the telecommunications network in Pushchino. If earlier the search was done only for biologists, then they decided to cover the Internet. At that time, everyone who did the Internet knew each other. First of all, they were those who had access to it at enterprises (engineers, programmers).

Birthday of Rambler

At first, when the sites only appeared, it was difficult to navigate them. There were teleconferences - boards, where the addresses of sites were placed on different subjects, sites were transmitted via e-mail. In a word, word of mouth. Despite this, new pages quickly appeared on the Internet. By the time of Rambler's launch, in 1996, there were about a thousand of them. Sergei Vladimirovich said that at that time they understood that now the appearance of the sites will grow, and the need for search was great. And they decided to teach the Internet to speak Russian.

The whole team was aware that such a project would require considerable expenses. So, through the efforts of Dmitry Kryukov and their entire team appeared "Rambler", recalls Sergei Lysakov. Date of birth of the search engine - October 8, 1996, so unanimously considers the whole team. For those times, a unique product that combines the capabilities of the rating system and the search engine. This was the first and only, at that time, Russian information retrieval system. Now it seems like an alphabet, but then it was an innovation.

"No one has a right to a miracle," as Sergey Lukyanenko, a famous author, writes in one of his books. Lysakov (photo below) and his team proved by their example that behind what now seems like a matter of course, stand for many years of hard work. The project was initially unprofitable, the first money was earned on the "Rambler" in 1997. But 2 years later became the most popular resource. Its further development, as a portal, required investments. Therefore, there was a decision to sell it. In 1999, sold for 1 million dollars 53% of the shares. So a new stage in the company began - the arrival of investors.

Office for Computers

The team started a new promising direction - the creation of data centers. A kind of technological platform for companies whose main activity was not the functioning of the IT service. Abroad, this type of services has gained momentum, but in Russia this practice was not. The team had experience - the first such center they built in 1987 in Pushchino, it was used as an IT platform for Internet projects. Then there was a data center for 200 servers in the MSU Science Park.

In short, by 2001, they were well versed in these issues and had a clear idea of what the data center should be. In 2003, Sergei Lysakov ventured to try his hand. The construction of a unique office center for IT companies began. A kind of business center with special premises for computer equipment with autonomous power supply, which guaranteed uninterrupted operation. Even then it became clear that this is a popular niche and not occupied by anyone.

Family crew

Sergey Lysakov is the CEO of Stack Group, which continues to work on new technologies, develops modular solutions for data centers. As Sergey Vladimirovich says, soon the subscribers will have access to new technologies, the Internet will become a thing of the past and a new computer era will turn all the ideas about the possibilities of IT technologies.

The whole family - the son, the spouse, with whom Lysakov studied on the same course, work in the same company. Sergei Vladimirovich has been heading the "Formula-Trial" for several years, organized this sports series together with like-minded people. With his son Dmitry created a proto class car - a unique car with 54-inch wheels, active suspension and four-wheel drive.
