This is due to the peculiarities of historical development and the Korean mentality. It was not customary to build here for centuries and millennia. The wooden city was burned many times in its history. Even during the great Korean war between the North and South in the middle of the twentieth century, it twice passed from hand to hand. But with all this there is even a lot to look at. First of all, there are six ancient wooden palaces: Changdeokgun, Gyeongbokgung, Toxugun, Changgyonggun, Unkhyonggun and Kyonghigun. They are carefully restored and maintained in good condition. This is the national historical heritage of such a republic as South Korea. Seoul has many other interesting objects for tourists. One of them is the ancient city gate of Namdaemun. Now they are on restoration. In general, the sphere of tourism here only begins to gain good momentum. Travelers from Europe and America are still much fewer than from Japan and China.
