Semigin Gennadiy Yurievich: biography, activities and interesting facts

On the Russian political Olympus, Gennady Semigin identifies himself with a patriotic statesman. He is a vivid representative of the opposition, not the first year trying to unite the structures that declare themselves patriotic forces of the country together.

The leader of the "Patriots of Russia" in his election program took as a basis the idea of love for the Motherland, based on knowledge and respect for its past and present. According to the politician, the state represented by high-ranking officials should fully ensure the protection of the rights and interests of the average citizen.

Gennady Semigin is an experienced public figure, politician and businessman. Currently, he actively participates in the elective companies of our country and does not give up hope that he will still be involved in the management of state affairs.

Years of childhood and adolescence

Gennady Semigin, whose biography is of some interest to political scientists, was born on March 23, 1964 in the settlement of Dunaevtsi (Khmelnytsky region, Ukraine). His father is a reserve colonel, and his mother is a simple engineer. School future head of the "Patriots of Russia" graduated in Smolensk.

Having received the certificate of maturity, Semigin Gennady decides to enter the Higher Military-Political School. S.S. Biryuzova, located in the Latvian capital. He successfully passes the exams and becomes a cadet of the above-mentioned university. In the mid-eighties the young man received a coveted diploma, in which it was written in black and white that he had received the profession of "historian-political scientist". After Semigin Gennady served for five years in the ranks of the armed forces.

In the early 90's the young man was demobilized, having risen to the senior lieutenant.

First Steps in Entrepreneurship

Then he began to attract business. Semigin Gennady creates the research structure "Center of Economics" and joint-stock company "AKROS". After a short time, a graduate of the military-political school establishes the Russian Financial and Industrial Group (RFPG), which gradually includes companies that are profiled in the construction and registration of real estate, investment, heavy industry, finance. Undoubtedly, a good start was provided for himself by Semigin Gennady Yuryevich. Business began to bring him good "dividends": some sources claimed that his companion was Alexander Rutskoi himself. But in the mid-90's the business reputation of the RFPG was seriously shaken. There were serious suspicions that the business structure was involved in fraudulent schemes, as a result of which material damage was caused to the military department.

In the late 90's Semigin Gennady shifted the priorities in business, creating several companies that began to provide consulting, auditing and legal services. The entrepreneur also showed interest in the construction sector, supervising the two structures engaged in the construction of housing (LLC "Farn-Trade" and LLC "Arcturus-Story").

In addition, Gennady Semigin is accountable to the media holding "Freedom of Speech", which includes several major media: Rodnaya Gazeta, National News Agency, and Political Journal.

Career in politics

Back in the early 90's, the future leader of the "Patriots of Russia" joined the CPSU. But soon the communist regime in the country was overthrown, and Gennady Yurievich had to look for new horizons in politics. He nurtures the idea of the establishment of the Congress of Russian business circles. This public structure was supposed to consolidate those business representatives who would agree to finance reforms on the way to a market economy.

In the period from 1992 to 1994, Semigin was a member of the Council on Entrepreneurship (a body created under the head of state) and was a leader of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).

In the mid-1990s, Gennady Yuryevich founded the National Social Science Foundation (NONF). Through this legal entity, several public structures were funded, for example, the Institute for the Development of Law and Judicial Practice and the Center for the Protection of Economic and Social Rights of Citizens.

With the "left"

Further Semigin Gennady Yuryevich begins to closely contact the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Andreyevitch Zyuganov and offers financial assistance to his party. Having enlisted the support of the Communists, he went to the lower house of parliament on the general federal list (3rd convocation). In the State Duma, the businessman became an assistant to the speaker. In 2003, he will again fall into the legislature from the Communist Party.

Exile from the Communist Party

Soon after the second election to parliament, Gennady Yuryevich will have a scandal with the head of the Communist Party. Zyuganov expelled Semigin from the party, saying that he was trying to capture his "child" in a raider way. After this, the businessman periodically took sides with more lightweight parties that propagated leftist and at the same time patriotic ideas. In the fall of 2004, a political alliance is created from the above-mentioned structures, which will be called "Patriots of Russia".

The coordinating council of the future party will be headed by Semigin. In the summer of 2005 he officially registered the party "Patriots of Russia".

The "people's" government

In the spring of 2005, Gennady Semigin, whose biography contains many interesting things, creates the so-called "people's" government, which includes representatives of a number of left-patriotic parties: "The Spiritual Heritage of the Motherland", "The Russian Party of Pensioners," "The All-Russia Communist Party of the Future" , "For a worthy life", "People's Party of the Russian Federation" and others. The government also included several large public associations. The new body was supposed to offer an alternative to the current course of development of the country.

The Motherland Party

After the "People's Government" project Gennady Semigin ("Patriots of Russia" party) continues to be in the status of an independent parliamentarian in the State Duma. At the end of 2006, the businessman suddenly adjoins the "Motherland", which already includes the "Narodovoltsy" and the CEPR.

Some time later, by a vote, it was decided that Gennady Yuryevich from 2007 will be at the helm of the party, displacing Sergei Baburin from the leading post. It should be noted that the procedure was carried out in the absence of Baburin. Of course, he did not like the new state of things.

Confrontation

Vasily Shestakov, head of the SEPR, opposed the new leader of the "Motherland". He also opposed the renaming of the faction into an association ("Narodnaya Volya" -SEPR-"Patriots of Russia").

But Gennady did not attach much importance to this and in early 2007 held a meeting of the faction, where the "Patriots of Russia" had already joined. Semigin then made 15 legislative initiatives.

But Sergey Baburin did not want to give up his position so simply: he threatened that if he did not again become head of the "renewed" structure, then the "Narodnaya Volya" and the SEPR would withdraw from the "Motherland" and establish their own "People's Patriotic Union", and " Patriots of Russia "will remain alone. Subsequently, Baburin and Shestakov still decided to consolidate, but they were denied registration of the People's Patriotic Union.

Coalition

In the fall of 2007, Gennady Semigin, whose biography seems to be irreproachable by far not everyone, together with Seleznev, Rogozin, Saveliev, signs a document through which the political alliance "Motherland - Patriots of Russia" will be formed. According to the plan of the founders, this project provided an opportunity for the consolidation of all patriotic forces and their participation in the elected company in the State Duma.

But in the winter elections of 2007 Semigin and his party failed, so the businessman did not get into the 5th convocation of the Duma.

The last elections to the lower house of parliament were also unsuccessful. Just "Patriots of Russia" in 2016 voted just 0.59% of voters.

But, despite this, the politician intends in the future to take revenge and still realize his political ambitions.

Hobbies and marital status

At leisure, Gennady Semigin, whose biography is not familiar to everyone, is engaged in sports, training in swimming, martial arts, playing tennis. In 1982, he won first place in the USSR championship in karate. In this kind of martial arts, a businessman has the title of Master of Sports. In addition, he is a candidate for master of sports in judo and boxing.

In his spare time, a politician likes to listen to classical music, giving preference to such composers as Tchaikovsky, Bach, Mozart. He himself can play the guitar, accordion and piano. He also reads Russian literature. Among the favorite writers are Honore de Balzac, Leo Tolstoy, Fedor Dostoevsky, Mikhail Bulgakov. Gennady Yuryevich is a laureate of the State Prize of Russia, has several higher educations. He owns a 6-room apartment and a Mercedes car.

The businessman is married, he has three children: a son and two daughters.
