"Deadly weapon". Actors of the legendary quadrology

The first part of the legendary action-thriller "Lethal Weapon" (actors: the unsurpassed Mel Gibson, the little-known Danny Glover, Mitchell Ryan, Gary Busy, Tom Atkins), released in 1987, laid a solid foundation for the subsequent three parts that appeared in 1989, 1992 and 1998 respectively. All the films from quadrology were created by almost the same team of like-minded people: director Richard Donner, producer Joel Silver and actor duo Mel Gibson and Danny Glaver.

Partner

"Lethal Weapon" (the actors agree with this statement entirely) has every right to be called a film-legend, because, according to many leading filmmakers, it was this picture that largely determined the development of the genre of "action". It is known for sure that one of the cornerstones of the subgenre is the "Buddy-Mouvy," that is, a movie in which two friends and a partner work together, bound by true friendship. In "Deadly Weapon" such companions become Australian Mel Gibson ("Mad Max") and little-known actor Danny Glover. For Glover, participating in this criminal militant is a real breakthrough in his creative career. For the role of Roger Murto, the actor was awarded the Image Awards. In recent media interviews, Mel Gibson denied the beginning of filming the next part of the film "Lethal Weapon" (the actors allegedly agreed to participate in the fifth episode), he said, to replace the magnificent Danny Glover will not succeed, but the charm of all four episodes is kept solely by His person.

Old School in the best traditions

Despite the obvious secondary narrative narrative, the 1987 militant "Lethal Weapon", whose actors are listed above, achieved excellent results. It masterfully used all the key elements typical of the "police thriller," the experienced director Richard Donner effectively creates the tension of the entire plot action. A tough struggle with criminal elements alternates with everyday, everyday scenes in which the spectator can appreciate the human qualities of the main characters. Actors Mel Gibson and Danny Glover expressively and convincingly demonstrate the complex process of grinding completely dissimilar characters. After all, according to the idea of the creators, the hero Mel Gibson - Los Angeles policeman Martin Riggs - is considered an inveterate psycho, unequivocally unbalanced. The hero could not cope with the consequences of the war in Vietnam. His partner determines the calm, respectable and unruffled guardian of the law of African American Roger Murto in the performance of Danny Glover. With difficulty overcoming mistrust, warily and gradually the heroes reach mutual understanding, simultaneously destroying the Joshua gang, which trades in drugs.

Part two

After the resounding success of the first part, producer Joel Silver provided the opportunity for production director Richard Donner and all those who participated in the creation of the first "Weapon" in 1989 to continue the story about the new misadventures of brave cop-mates from Los Angeles. "Lethal Weapon 2" (actors: the same Gibson and Glover plus Joe Pesci, Derrick O'Connor, Joss Ekland) is made in the same genre policy. Nevertheless, the authors did not go through the tried and tested way of creating a furious action movie with a dynamic action and an exciting intrigue. This, of course, exists in the continuation, but the dialogues, differing in the first part of gloomy-rude American humor, saturated with jargon, have become more witty in the second part. One gets the impression that in the film "Lethal Weapon 2" (the actors took this trend more than positively) there is an invisible shadow of mockery and undisguised irony. The main characters are still catching drug traffickers, which this time are diplomats, ambassadors from South Africa.

The magic returns in 1992. Part 3

In the third part, the creators impressed the viewer with amazing special effects, complicated in stunt making, because by that time Richard Donner had the necessary experience after the Superman project. "Lethal Weapon 3" (actors: irreplaceable Glover, Gibson and Joe Pesci, as well as Stuart Wilson and Rene Russo) is not distinguished by the original delights in terms of the script. Partners are still standing guard over the law, trying to get on the trail of an ex-policeman involved in the illegal sale of confiscated weapons. The manner of the narrative narrative is also full of rough and sharp jokes. The main characters, although they are already akin, still tinker and bicker with each other. Heroes fall into amazing bindings, look incredibly lucky people whose invulnerability and vitality and are thus the "deadly weapon".

In 1998, everything was assembled. Part 4

The painting "Lethal Weapon 4", whose actors are familiar to the viewer from the previous parts (except Jet Li), has all the virtues that the three previous episodes. The return of Richard Donner played an important role. The antagonists are changing, and the heroes who are fond of the viewer remain. The project involved not only the two main stars, but also performers of other roles: the captain of the police and Leo, the family of Merto. Looking forward to another portion of acute humor, salty frazochek, skilfully intertwined with spectacular action scenes. The main characters are much older, but they have not lost their courage and dexterity. This time, they have to fight with Chinese drug traffickers, to all other traders in trafficking.
