By railways of our country, trains run with cars of varying degrees of comfort. The most popular clients of Russian Railways are reserved seats. They are even cheaper than a reserved seat. Sleeping or lying for a few hours in the daytime is not at all necessary. Types and designations of wagons

The cost of seats on RZD trains can vary significantly. At the moment, passengers in our country are transported:

  • Wagons SV. This is the most expensive and most comfortable type. Coupe of such cars can be double or four-seater.

  • Soft cars. Denoted by the letter M.

  • Kupeynye (K).

  • Platzcard (P). The seats in such cars are larger than in the rest, since the shelves are located, among other things, along the side of the passage.

  • General (About). Such cars can also be called sedentary, since passengers in them are placed on three on the lower shelves. There are practically no such cars in the rolling stock of Russian Railways.

Actually, the sedentary cars themselves are equipped not with shelves, but with armchairs. Ply these formulations usually within the same area. Therefore, their cars are designated as Obl (C). Sometimes the latter can also be hooked up to long-distance trains. The layout of the RZD sitting car is almost identical for all classes.

Degree of comfort

Sitting car, as already mentioned, at the moment is the cheapest version. Traveling in it is relatively comfortable. From trains these trains differ in that almost every car has a toilet and a wardrobe. During the journey, as in the usual formulations, beverages and food are carried. Some trains of this type have buffets.

Traveling in a sedentary car can be somewhat more dangerous than in a sleeping car. In particular, this applies to women and children. The fact is that such trains often move people from the lower social strata of society (up to the homeless people). Buy a ticket for long distances, at least in a reserved seat of money they simply do not. And so they prefer to travel around the country or on trains, or in such trains, changing from one to another. In addition, in the formulations of this type, judging by the opinions of passengers, it is quite dusty and dirty.

Classes

The layout of the RZD sedentary car is simple, but from the inside it looks about the same as the saloon of a very large tram. In small towns, trains of this type usually run, the seats in which practically do not differ from the seats in the trains. From the stations of megacities usually depart formulations with soft chairs. There are seats in sedentary trains on both sides of the aisle. Usually trains of this type carry two types of cars - 1st and 2nd class. The first seat is wider and more comfortable. On each side of the passage of such a car there are two of them (or one - two, with another - one). In the second class there are three places on each side of the aisle. The chairs here run one after the other along the entire length of the car. Tables also have, but very small, individual. Sometimes in the train there are also places of the third class. These are the most uncomfortable sessile cars of Russian Railways. Instead of chairs in them are established benches, located opposite each other and at a very close distance. The latter factor causes discomfort, especially in high passengers. The distance between the benches facing each other is so small that people simply have nowhere to put their feet. Numbering of places

Tickets in sedentary cars, as in ordinary cars, are sold at railway ticket offices of Russian Railways. The seat number must be indicated on the travel document. This is another difference between sedentary convoys and electric trains. Numbering in cars of this type is the same as in ordinary cars. In the composition of their most often 10-12.

In sedentary cars of the first class, usually 21-28 passenger seats. Numbering them goes from behind, in parallel rows. The diagram of the sedentary car of RZD shows it well. The second class of compounds of this type is less convenient. The rows of seats here are usually 8 or more, and seats - a minimum of 36. The numbering is also carried out from the end and rows. In carriages of the third class there can be up to 66 seats. Of course, this is a lot, and greatly affects the degree of comfort of the trip. The price of tickets

The cost of a seat in an ordinary, not a company train, is very low. For example, for 2015 in the composition of Moscow - St. Petersburg, the price for it is only 410 rubles. For comparison: a reserved seat will cost 780 rubles, a coupe - in 1430, luxury - in 3390, a soft car - in 10 610 rubles. Of course, the cost of a seat is directly dependent on the class. However, the difference in this case in the price is usually not too large.
