Not every car owner knows what the SHRUS is. This is the abbreviated name of the hinge of equal angular velocities, that is, the device by which the gearbox and the engine retain traction even if the rudder is completely turned out. To check the condition of the anthers, simply look behind the front wheel, having previously turned it to the stop. If the corrugated elastic band located in the central part of the wheel is intact, then everything is normal. If not, an emergency replacement of the CV joint anther is required. If the defect is ignored, sand and dust will enter the interior of the anther, which will disable the SHRUS itself. A similar replacement procedure is also necessary if the elastic band is cracked. The failure of the CV joint can be easily diagnosed even without an external inspection: when the car is driving along sharp turns, a characteristic crackle appears. Note that in the case of the anther's integrity it is possible to drive with such a "crunch" for a long time.

Replacement of the dust joint SHRUS is carried out as follows:

1. First you need to acquire keys in case the standard tool is not suitable for unscrewing the hub nuts. In addition, you should stock up on oil to be added to the gearbox.

2. After the preparation phase, you can proceed to the actual replacement process. Raise the front of the car, remove the wheels, setting the car on a reliable support. Then remove from the hub nuts safety keys and caps. This can only be done if the assistant at this time will keep the brake. Then loosen the nuts. Replacement of the dust joint SHRUSa is carried out according to the standard scheme: unscrewing the bolts of fastening, complete unscrewing of the nut, retraction of the hub to itself. Then it becomes possible to remove the CV joint from the bearing and disconnect the drive shaft from the gearbox. This procedure is carried out in three ways.

If you need to replace the anther, then the procedure is best to start from the end of the shaft, having disassembled the inner hinge. First remove the boot from the hinge, then the three bearings. The following elements for removal are a retaining ring and a tripod. Only after this, it becomes possible to dismantle the anther of the outer hinge through the entire shaft. The components obtained should be rinsed, cleaned of grease and oil, and the replaced parts replaced with new ones.

3. The replacement of the dust joint SHRUS ends after its installation and installation of all parts. Stabilize internal pressure in the anthers is recommended when the drive shaft is static.
