Russian gymnast Tatyana Gorbunova: biography, sports career, work activity

Gorbunova Tatyana is a famous Russian gymnast, winner of the Olympic Games in Beijing, world and European champion. After completing his brilliant sports career, he works at the Moscow Center for Olympic Training in Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Biography of the sportswoman

Gorbunova Tatiana Igorevna was born in January 1990 in Naberezhnye Chelny. Gymnastics future Olympic champion began to seriously engage in a three-year age. Her first mentor was Svetlana Alekseevna Lebedinskaya.

The girl showed amazing for her years of perseverance in class. Sometimes she was almost forced to withdraw from the gym.

At the age of six, Gorbunova Tatiana moves to Rostov-on-Don, where she continues her studies under the guidance of Honored Coach Adeli Vladimirovna Esipova. At various children's tournaments, coaches and judges celebrated the innate talent of the young girl and prophesied to her a great sporting success.

Soon Tatyana is invited to train in the most prestigious school of rhythmic gymnastics - the Moscow Center for Olympic Training. Here it was taught by such world-famous coaches as Natalia Orlova, Amina Zaripova, Zlata and Olga Tulubaeva, Irina Zenovka.

Sports career

Winning various youth and youth tournaments, Tatyana Gorbunova in 2005 attracted attention from the coaches of the national team. So, the 15-year-old athlete was in the Russian team, where her mentors were Irina Alexandrovna Wiener and Valentina Ivanitskaya. Training went to a completely different level, and the results did not take long.

In 2007, a 17-year-old Russian gymnast became a three-time winner of the world championship in group exercises. A year later, Gorbunova won two gold medals at the European Championships in Turin with the Russian national team.

At the Beijing Olympics, 18-year-old Tatiana and her co-workers on the national team rode in the status of some of the main contenders for the victory.

"Golden" shine of Beijing

In the qualifying round of the Games, Russians showed the second result, losing to the hosts of the Chinese women's competition. But in the finale of the Olympics, the struggle for gold was very difficult and uncompromising. According to the judges, the Russian team looked better as in the exercises with five rods, and in the group performance with three balls and four clubs, and deservedly won first place.

For the victory at the Olympic Games in Beijing Gorbunova was awarded the Order of Friendship, and she was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of the Russian Federation.

Unfortunately, the gymnasts' sports career is very short. After the Games in Beijing, Tatyana Gorbunova completed her speech.

Life after sport

Gorbunova Tatiana excellently managed to combine frequent and exhausting workouts with studies. In 2007 she became a graduate of the Moscow Special Sports School. Five years later, Gorbunova received a red diploma from the Southern Federal University, where she studied at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports.

As a second higher education, the ex-gymnast chose MSU, namely the faculty of public administration.

A year after the end of her sports career, she was invited to work in the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics for the post of executive secretary.

Starting in 2013, Tatyana Gorbunova works as a director of the special school of the Olympic Reserve at the Moscow City Physical Culture and Sports Society. She also acted as the ambassador at the junior gymnastics tournament "Children of Asia".
