Anna Bogaliy was born in 1979 in the small town of Vozhega, which is located in the Vologda region. When the girl was 5 years old, she moved with her mother to Murmansk. From an early age, Ana really liked to ski.

At the age of 12 Bogaliy accidentally got into the biathlon section. She liked this sport. Anna began to work hard, and soon the first achievements came.

At 19 years old, the Russian biathlete was able to win the gold medal of the World Junior Championships. A year later Anna Bogaliy wins a bronze medal in the relay race at the continental championship. After the victory in the National Cup athlete moves to the main Russian team.

Professional career

The debut biathlon season 2000/01 became very successful for Bogaliy. In individual competitions, a young athlete managed to enter the flower ceremony three times. But Anna showed the best result in the relay at the World Championships in Pokljuka. Here she was in the Russian national team for the first time at the highest step of the pedestal.

Such results allowed Bogaliy to take part in the 2002 Olympics, which proved unsuccessful for the athlete.

In addition to two victories and four podiums at the World Cup stages, Anna Bogaliy became a three-time winner of the world championship in Oberhof.

In the 2004/05 season, the Russian athlete continued to please her fans. In addition to one victory and a podium at the World Cup stages, Bogaliy became the world champion in the relay race. In addition, on the continental championship in Novorossiysk Anna managed to win a gold and three bronze medals.

Despite not very good results in the 2005/06 season, Bogaliy got to the Russian national team at the Olympic Games in Turin. After a great race, Russian biathletes with Anna in the team managed to win the relay race.

Having missed several seasons due to pregnancy and childbirth, in 2009 Anna Bogaliy-Titovets decides to return to the big sport and take part in the 2010 Olympics. The return was very successful - in the Russian national team the biathlete once again won the relay race.

After the 2010 Olympics, Anna Bogaliy participated in the World Cup races for two more seasons, after which she announced the end of her sports career.

Personal life of biathlete

In September 2004, Anna married Maxim Titovets, from whom in 2009 she gave birth to her son. Now the former sportswoman is divorced.

Permanent residence - Novosibirsk, but likes to go to his native Vozhega. Here in her honor the children's and youth sports school has been renamed, and also the biathlon tournament "Anna Bogaliy Cup" is held every year.
