Rudolf Hess and his Mystery

The history of Nazi Germany is like a swamp, in which all the real facts are drowning. Complexities are thrown up by former allies who are vitally interested in hiding many unpleasant events. Once upon a time there lived a Nazi, to whom all of the above can be applied in full. His name is Rudolf Hess.

Who was he?

He was a faithful companion of Adolf Hitler, a devoted member of the Nazi Party. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the decision of the Nuremberg Tribunal. This is the only Nazi of such a level that he lasted until 1987. And that's strange - at the beginning of the same year the Soviet Union offered to release the old man "from considerations of humanity", after which he suddenly "committed suicide" (according to the British and Americans). There is something else. Some people think that Rudolf Hess is the commandant of Auschwitz. In fact, they were Rudolf Höss, who had nothing to do with the hero of our article.

It's only his relatives - a number of German, Soviet, and later Russian authors - who believe that he was simply eliminated when there was a danger that the old man could tell the whole world about the real goals of the negotiations he was conducting with the British government. The same is said by the son of Rudolf Hess, Wolf Rüdiger Hess: "I know that the forensic experts originally spoke of twice strangling the father. So, was he hung up twice? "

The mystery of "suicide"

Materials on his so-called suicide can be declassified only in 2017, and there is no doubt that most of the information will simply be dashed from the papers. The information on his interrogations is generally classified until 2040 with the possibility of extension, so we are unlikely to ever find out what the British really are hiding.

short biography

So, Rudolf Hess (1894-1987) was born in a hereditary trading family, studied for a merchant in Switzerland. During World War I finally broke with his father's business, volunteered for the front. First he commanded a platoon, then became a pilot. Among his commanders was the infamous G. Goering. He was awarded the Iron Cross. Finished the war as a lieutenant, he received two more Iron Crosses by that time. Even opponents of Nazism say that Rudolf Hess was at that time a devoted son of Germany and honestly fought for it. After that, he joins members of the secret society "Tula", becomes a member of one of the volunteer battalions.

In 1920 he joined the Nazi Party of the Soviet Socialist Republic. She studies in Munich. His scientific instructor was the famous Karl Haushofer, who created the German geopolitical school. In 1923 he was a member of the Beer Putsch, fled to Austria, was seized and was in the same cell with Hitler himself. Two years later he became his personal secretary. In 1933 he was appointed his deputy in the party. Who invented the "Zig Heil"? Rudolf Hess! Hitler Youth is also his offspring. In a word, he was not the last person ...

In 1939 the Führer appoints him as his possible successor (after Goering). In May 1941, on a private plane, he secretly flies to England, again captured. This time he will sit in the cell until the very end of his life ... We can assume that the biography of Rudolf Hess is over. But he left too many questions behind him.

A noteworthy flight

It should be remembered that May 10, 1941 can rightly be considered no less significant date than June 21 of the same year. Ostensibly Rudolf Hess steals from the military airfield "Messerschmitt-110", then flies on it to England. In the history of the world, such cases have happened, but extremely rarely.

Just think: a man whom Hitler officially named his successor two years before, suddenly "escapes" to Great Britain, with which Germany was neither shaky nor waggish, but still fought for two years! It's strange to think that the man who fanatically screamed "Zig Heil!", Rudolf Hess, decided to betray his Fuhrer.

Officially, Hitler immediately called his successor crazy, Stalin expressed deep doubts about the randomness of the flight, and the British themselves can not say anything intelligible for 70 years. World experts have strong suspicions that they will not say anything further. And the future declassification of the dossier does not matter, since with these papers "suddenly" anything can happen.

Official flight history

So, on a warm May evening, "hijacking" a completely new aircraft in an ideal technical condition, it flies on it towards Scotland, without meeting the slightest (!) Opposition from the air defense forces. Nobody pursues him, which also leads to thoughts ...

Flying in those parts where the Duke of Hamilton was supposed to live, he jumps with a parachute, sending the plane to free fall. In the life of the 48-year-old Hess, such extreme entertainment was not mentioned before, which played a role in the landing. He breaks his ankle and seriously damages the spine. With difficulty hobbling to the nearest farm, Rudolf Hess (photo of which is in the article) reports that he must urgently see the Duke of Hamilton. He is taken into custody and handed over to the army authorities.

Unusual strangeness ...

Attention is drawn to the fact that "Nazi No. 2" does not ask for a natural asylum in this case. He constantly emphasizes the outstanding role of his mission. It is very difficult to believe in the official version of the UK. Agreeing to her, only "small office clerks" talked to him. So that only the bureaucratic "cogs" could talk to Hitler's deputy himself ?!

So what is the mystery of Rudolf Hess? Why did he fly to England, although he did not need refuge and did not disown his important mission in any way? What caused him to leave his native Vaterland and, risking his life, go to England, where no one expected him? Or ... were they even waiting? As they say, "I left my grandmother, and left my grandfather": he was not hit by a German or British air defense system, he was not followed by a chase. The pilot was far from the best, it would not have been possible to catch up with Hess. What to pay attention to such "trifles", that in those territories where the "Nazi No. 2" went, the network of radar stations was perhaps the thickest on the Foggy Albion. Of course, his "no one noticed."

About "democratic" methods of interrogation

The tribunal in Nuremberg recognized that Hess had taken to England some important proposals for a draft peace treaty, which was approved by Hitler himself. And further. Today it is known for sure that a significant flight occurred a couple of weeks after the exact date of the attack on our country ... But an even more interesting fact is recorded in the transcript of the Tribunal itself. At the end of August 1946, Hess decided to disclose some information about the real aims of his mission. Only he managed to say: "In the spring of 1941 ...", as the chairman from the English side interrupted him instantly, Lawrence. The mystery of Rudolf Hess was not disclosed.

Immediately after this, Hess stopped talking. Moreover, he immediately began to play the idiot, who completely lost his memory. Simply put, the British have shut their mouths to their protege so that he does not have time to say what to say should not in any case. Note that so interrogated not only Rudolf Hess. Auschwitz, whose leader was Rudolf Höss, also keeps many of his terrible secrets just because many of his staff members simply fled to the same England and the United States, where they found reliable shelter from the NKVD persecution.

So why did he fly to England?

Most likely, in 1941 the deputy Adolf Hitler was carrying such an offer, which the United Kingdom could not refuse (and did not want, apparently). What is the essence of the proposal, it is easy to guess - to abandon Operation Sea Lion in exchange for the cessation of hostilities from the British side. This world needed Hitler to start a war with the USSR. The English wanted the same ... So Rudolf Hess, whose quotes were widely used in the Reich Chancellery, was not exactly a traitor to Germany, having flown to the camp of the "worst enemy".

Treacherous world

The statement of the notorious Allen Dulles, who later became director of the CIA, says the same thing. In 1948, Dulles openly stated that as early as the early 1940s British intelligence in Berlin went out to Hess himself for talks with the Führer. At the same time, Hitler's deputy was told that under the condition of an attack on the USSR, England would not intervene and cease hostilities. Most likely, in May 1941, Hess took to Britain a proposal for a separate peace, where the following conditions were prescribed:

  • Complete cessation of hostilities on both sides.
  • England can (should) join aggression against the USSR.
  • The conclusion of peace between Great Britain and Italy.
  • The transfer to the Germans of all their colonies, which they lost in the course of the SIP. The withdrawal of British troops from Iraq, rich in oil-bearing deposits.
  • Complete freedom for London within the English empire.
  • A coalition of all European states to fight the Soviets (in principle, it already existed).
  • Removal from the administration of the state of Winston Churchill.

The latter is extremely controversial. Churchill appears to be an ardent "enemy of Nazism" only with a remote examination. At one time he got along very well with Mussolini, and even with Hitler, if necessary, he could easily make friends. The country where Rudolf Hess was during the war did not fought so fiercely against Nazism, having bothered to open the second front only in 1944.

The reasons for the attack on the USSR

And why could the British want to attack the USSR in the performance of the Germans? The answer is very simple. Ever since the end of the First World War in Europe, there was a single independent state that conducts the same policy. Since the 19th century, England has done everything to weaken Russia, and has succeeded a lot in this. The Russo-Turkish wars, the war with Japan, the suicidal entry of the Russian Empire into the PMW are all links of the same chain. Certainly, the British placed great hopes on the Bolsheviks, especially since Lenin had already concluded a "rascally Brest Peace".

They assumed that with the same ease, he would be able to pass to the "Queen of the Seas" a couple or two tasty morsels. But Ilyich was not so simple: first he finished the interventionists, and then completely abandoned the old debts of Nicholas II, which were conditioned by Russia's entry into the First World War on the side of the Entente.

Naturally, the sponsors of the White Guards did not tolerate such "insult". There is ample evidence that it was British loans and the "blindness" of the English that enabled Hitler to create a first-class army, although he was generally forbidden to have anything like that under the conditions of the postwar world. Just think - Germany, completely "demilitarized" country, openly build ships and tanks, but "allies" do not pay any attention to it! The Fuhrer was the ideal instrument for seizing the USSR. But the British somewhat miscalculated: Hitler created such a good army that some Englishmen could not (and frankly cowardly) dictate to him their conditions.

Guarantees and offers

Of course, Hess certainly gave some guarantees. We can only guess about them, although the main ones do not cause doubts: Britain simply could promise not to open the Second Front and not to interfere in the solution of the "Eastern question". Although some historians (and not only Soviet and Russian) believe that it could have been a question of England's open speech on the side of Nazi Germany. Now the late Leo Bezymensky said that Hess was entrusted with the creation of a single European coalition.

Against whom, it is not necessary to tell for a long time. The British clearly did not want to fight the USSR openly, since many of their citizens would not understand this, but they did not really prevent the Nazis from fighting the Soviet Union or interfering with the creation of volunteer units from British citizens who fought on the Eastern Front. Moreover, it was England that became a safe haven for non-humans from the Galichina division after the war, and their "loyal sons" who fought on the side of the Reich were not oppressed there.

The end of the "Nazi No. 2"

In the Tower of London, Hess comfortably stayed until October 6, 1945. After Nuremberg he was sent to Germany, to Spandau prison. The conditions of his detention were so cruel that even Brezhnev was going to free the old Nazi. He did not want Hess to be a bugbear, showing the whole world that "the USSR mocks the old people." But then the expected happened ...

In mid-August 1987, he was found dead, a short wire was tightened around the neck of "Nazi No. 2". According to his son's memoirs, two stood "in the shape of the US Army", quietly smoking cigarettes and did not respond to requests for help. However, the reaction was: one of them immediately performed an "artificial massage" of the chest of the old man, breaking his ten ribs and severing part of his entrails. It was done professionally and calmly. A couple of days later (on the orders of the British prison administration) all personal belongings and Hess's diaries were destroyed. On this basis, it is difficult to count on a real disclosure of all the facts and riddles associated with the name of this person. If we talk about his quotes, then we can give an example of such:

  • "I must admit frankly that the liquidation of Jews with the help of gas acted on me soothingly.I was terrified to see the mountains of the shot, including women and children.Gas freed us from these streams of blood ..."
  • "I had no way to get away from it, I had to continue the process of mass destruction, worry for the death of others, look at what was happening cold, although everything was boiling inside ... When something extraordinary happened, I could not immediately go home to the family. Sat down on a horse to somehow forget himself, get rid of the painful pictures before his eyes, or go to the stable to forget himself and his pets at least a little. "
