Route M5 - beautiful scenery and terrible roads

Each of us wants to go on a car on a long journey. But the weather conditions and roads are frightening. But there are desperate people who are not afraid of mountains, potholes, traffic jams. For them, there are no barriers. And the M5 route for them seems simple. Let's get acquainted with this road.

general information

The route passes through several regions (Chelyabinsk, Orenburg, Samara, Penza, Ryazan, Moscow). Its length is 1879 kilometers. There are both detours of large cities (Penza, Kuznetsk, Ryazan), and porches (Samara, Ufa).

The temperature regime is different in winter and summer. On the way there are the rivers Oka, Tsna, Sura, Belaya, Miass, and also the Kuibyshev reservoir. All bridges over 50 meters in length have a payload capacity of sixty to eighty tons.

Road surface

The M5 is an asphalt road. The width of its carriageway is about 8 meters. Drivers complain of uneven, sometimes narrow road surface, rare medical and repair points, unsuitable curbs, poor infrastructure in some places.

Individual sites are now being reconstructed according to the latest regulations. For example, the Ufa-Pokrovka section has three flat strips with a dividing strip, convenient interchanges, ramps, fences and bright markings. Route m5 is on the line for modernization, so soon it will turn into an autobahn.

The main problem is the road surface. It is broken under the influence of natural conditions and heavy load. Now only 35% of the length of the path corresponds to the standards. The remaining 65% correspond partially or are generally in an unsatisfactory state.

Hazardous sites

Landscapes along the way are wonderful. But the beautiful nature does not really enjoy, as there are many dangerous places. For example, M 5 Ural. This is the Chelyabinsk region. In the mountainous areas, about fifty people die each year, and two hundred are injured.

The width of the road in each direction is from 1 to 3 lanes. Streams of cars are separated by a strip or a fence. In this area, 84% of the roads do not meet the standards due to the difficult terrain. The intensity of the movement has long exceeded the planned 5-7 times! Especially carefully you need to drive in winter - ice, drifts, traffic jams provoke accidents on the highway M5.

On the flat part of the highway, too, do not relax. In some places there are deep tracks that formed heavy vehicles.

Road load

The highway is characterized by saturation and long range. A tense situation near Ufa and in the Ryazan region. Partly the problem is solved by bypass roads. After the opening of the Ulyanovsk Bridge, drivers drive through the Samara and Penza regions through Saransk-Ulyanovsk-Koshki-Sukhodol. Here the traffic is less busy, but there are few petrol stations and motels.

Service

The M5 route is characterized by a multitude of gas stations with shops, cafes, a toilet, a shower. At some stations, you can even check the tire pressure or clean the car interior. Also on the way there are a lot of cafes and restaurants, which, by the way, are not bad prepared. And prices are more acceptable than in the city. There are hotels and hotels. So in the way, brave! Dare!
