The Museum of V. I. Chapaev - a living history of the hero and his exploits, preserved for descendants

Vasily I. Chapaev - a figure that is truly amazing and legendary. The person who existed in reality became not only a symbol of courage and military courage, but also a hero of anecdotes and fictional stories. And all because he was from the people and is close to everyone, and his striking heroism is nothing more than a love for his homeland. It's no wonder that museums and memorial complexes dedicated to Chapaev are scattered around the cities of the former Soviet Union - in places where he was born, he showed courage and died.

Chapaev Museum in Cheboksary

This is the largest and most important museum complex dedicated to Chapaev's figure. In the center of the city there is a museum where there are original documents and photographs, many of which were transferred to the fund by the children of the legendary nachdiv, including a questionnaire filled with his hand. In the museum's fund, the hero's rewards are also kept - the St. George Crosses, medals and the Order of the Red Banner.

The complex also includes the Chapaev Square and the memorial wall with bas-reliefs depicting the associates of the nachdiv. However, the most interesting thing that you can see here is the house-museum where Vasily Ivanovich was born and spent the first years of his life. The house was recreated exactly as it was during the life of the owners. Many objects of everyday life, characteristic of the peasants of the 19th century, were transferred to distant relatives of the Chapaev family. It is interesting that the house stands in the same place as before, only earlier he was in the village of Budayka near Cheboksary, but eventually the village merged with the city, and today the street of Chapaev, almost the very center of the city, lies in its place.

Museum in Balakovo

This is the place where the future hero spent his youth, it is considered his second home, it is no wonder that here there is the Chapaev Museum. Balakovo, located on the Volga, became the haven of the family, escaped from the hungry and impoverished Chuvashia. From here Vasily went to the front in the 14th year.

The museum was created by the forces of fellow countrymen and fellow heroes, and many items for its arrangement were transferred by Chapaev's children Claudia and Alexander. Today, in a small wooden house, the family's belongings, photographs and characteristic household items of the time are kept. In addition, here you can see the medals of the eldest son Chapaev and the belongings of his father's companions. The personal interest of Maria Popova, who served in the Balakovo Regiment, is of great interest to visitors. Her handbag, dress and glasses are interesting because Popova became the prototype of the Anka-machine gunner, the heroine of the famous film about Chapaev.

Memorial house-museum Chapaeva in Pugachev

The city of Pugachev in the Saratov region is another point on Chapaev's life map. Here he lived with a large family in 1918 - Vasily Ivanovich himself with his second wife, his children from the first wife and her children from a previous marriage. The Museum of V.I. Chapaev is located in an old wooden one-storey house. And that this is Chapaev's museum, says his bust at the entrance to a high pedestal.

The museum has only 6 rooms, 5 of which have an exposition. In the main hall is a model of the monument established by the hero in Samara, and during his life there was a table on which tactical military maps were always laid out. Another dressing table and a closet - that's all the meager furniture of the hall. In the bedroom, a bed, linen and pillows for which in 39 year the wife of Chapaeva Pelageya Efimovna handed over to the museum. Here, too, are his personal authentic things - a hat, a phone, a deer horn. On the wall of the bedroom there is also a checker - an exact copy of the real checker Chapaev, located in the Museum of the Armed Forces in Moscow.

He keeps the museum of V.I. Chapaev and other things - household items of his family, metrics, photos of his parents, documents.

Museum in the village of Krasny Yar

This place near Ufa for many years honors the memory of Chapaev and his 25th Infantry Division, which freed these places from Kolchak almost a hundred years ago. In memory of these events in the village there is a museum dedicated to the 25th Division and its commander V.I. Chapaev.

In the house where the headquarters of Chapaev's division was located, today there is a memorial plaque telling about the terrible events of this time. Also, V. Chapaev's museum carefully keeps photo chronicles, documents and personal belongings of the Red Army soldiers.

Museum in Kazakhstan

On the territory of modern Kazakhstan is the village of Chapaev, which in the last century bore the name of Lbischensk. This point on the map is known as the place of Chapaev's death. After his release to Ufa, the division moved further and grounded the headquarters in Lbischensk, where it was attacked by Cossacks. In an unequal battle, almost all the Red Army men were killed, only a few managed to cross the Ural River and survive. This did not succeed Chapaev himself. He was wounded and drowned before he could swim to the opposite shore.

The Museum of VI Chapayev throughout the Soviet Union collected things and documents from the nachdiv and his colleagues for the replenishment of his memorial fund. However, local residents argue that of the genuine things in the museum, only a samovar. In addition to museum exhibits, the common grave of the Chapaevites, an obelisk in the place where Vasily Ivanovich stepped into the river, and a monument to him in the center of the village were preserved in the village.
