Pendikovo lake: description, rest, photo

Pendikovo Lake is a small silted reservoir in the Leningrad Region. It is located in the Tosnensky district, 6 km from the village of Nurma. On all sides the lake is surrounded by marshes: in the north and north-east - Yeryakinsky, in the southeast - Pendikovo. The area of the described water area - only 2,1 km², is located at an altitude of 48 m above sea level. The reservoir is the source of the Igolinka river. Pendikovo Lake is shallow. The average distance between the surface of the water and the bottom is 1.5-2 m, the maximum distance is 3 m in the center. Pendikovsky pond is oval in shape, stretched to the southeast by 2 km, the width of the lake is 1 km. The bottom is silted and covered with algae. The banks are high, swampy. There are moss and reed vegetation along the entire length of the lake. The southern and western shores of the reservoir are slightly higher than the northern shore. Several small streams flow into it.

Fauna

In past years, Pendikovo Lake was swarming with lake trout, and flocks of wild boars were on the banks. For a long time this area remained popular among hunters and fishermen. However, the situation changed over time. The lake has become shallower, and there are not many fish here anymore. In addition, Pendikovo Lake, fishing on which for commercial purposes is prohibited, loses "extra" vacationers because it is allowed only to fish from the shore for live bait. And during the spawning period it is prohibited to catch vertebrates. At present, roach, crucian carp, ide and burbot are found in the lake, and pike and perch are found from predatory fish. Submarine representatives are mostly small, large specimens rarely come across.

Tips for tourists

Hunting and fishing are not the only entertainment in these places. The entire territory near a pond such as Lake Pendikovskoe (photo is in the article) is strewn with berries and mushrooms. However, there are dangers in their collection. Useful cranberries and blueberries prefer to grow in marshland. Mushrooms are often found poisonous. As well as in any similar place, there are a lot of ticks on the lake's territory.

Recreation center "Pendikovo lake"

The presence of a tourist base on the shore of the lake makes rest more comfortable and safe. The described water area is located in the nature protection zone, and therefore hunting and fishing here are carried out at the permission of the administration. If there is a desire to stay on the pond for a few days, the visitors are cordially greeted at the hunting and fishing base "Pendikovo Lake". The recreation center is open all year round, the territory is closed. Here you can rent all necessary accessories for various activities, including boats. There is a base near the village of Shapki, on the shore of the lake. It is worth considering that the hunting season is short-lived:

• In the spring (from the end of April to the first of May) - you can hunt grouse, black grouse, drake.
• In summer (from August to September) - hunting for wild boar, woodcock and snipe birds.
• In winter (from November to February) - for wild boar, elk, hare, fox and wolf.

On the territory of the base, the huntsmen are engaged in taxidermy (making stuffed animals), so if there is a desire to take the result of a successful hunt as a trophy, it becomes possible for a fee. Rooms 1, 2, 3-bedded, are in a wooden two-story house, on the territory of the base there is a bath. The cottage can accommodate 12 people at the same time. Rest and hunt here come both alone and with families.

Recreation center "Lake Toyluk"

Not far from the base "Pendikovskoe Lake", which is satisfactory, there is a tourist settlement "Lake Toyluk". This is a more economical option for recreation.

From this base is very close to the seemingly endless fields, where often there are low trees and shrubs. Judging by the opinions of people, there is someone to hunt, so there are always a lot of tourists in this area. For convenience, a dirt path was laid through the field.

How to get to the lake?

You can get to Pendikovsky Lake from Tosno. In 10 km to the east from the village there will be a settlement. Nurma. For the latter, turn right and after 6 km along the country road to get to the destination. You can get to the very shore of the lake only from the southern or northern side. Near the pond there are comfortable beaches, which often remain with an overnight stay. It is worth to be afraid of a trip by car from the southeast and east due to the marshes approaching to the lake.
