Robert Rozhdestvensky is one of the brightest representatives of a galaxy of poets of the 50-60s of the 20th century. Songs on his poetry sound in films, they are sung and still know by heart. "Love has come," "Echo of love," "Call me, call me," and many other magical works remain forever in our hearts. Christmas is still one of the most read and beloved poets. And this is not surprising. The life of the whole country, the destiny of the generation was embodied in his lines by Robert Rozhdestvensky. His biography as a poet began from the earliest age.

Brief biographical note

On June 20, 1932 Robert Ivanovich Rozhdestvensky was born (at the birth - Robert Stanislavovich Petkevich). He was born in the family of the military Stanislav Petkevich in the village of Kosich in the West Siberian Territory. His father was a Pole. He worked in the commissariat of internal affairs. Since two years, Robert lived in Omsk with his family. However, when he was six, his father left the family.

Robert's mother worked as a director at a local school. But with the outbreak of war, she went to the front, and the boy remained in the care of his grandmother. And when she was gone, she was in the orphanage. In 1945, Robert's mother remarried and took her son from the orphanage. Her chosen one was Ivan Rozhdestvensky, an officer and fellow soldier. Subsequently, they moved to Leningrad, and a few years later - to the city of Petrozavodsk.

At the age of 19, Rozhdestvensky entered the ranks of students of the Moscow Literary Institute. Maxim Gorky. In 1955, appeared his debut collection, entitled "Flags of Spring". And a little later Robert releases his first student poem "My Love". They are followed by new works, among them - "Rovesniku", "Dedication", "Voice of the City". Let us note that the whole poet published about 70 poetic collections.

Christmas was the head of the commission on the literary heritage of Marina Ivanovna Tsvetaeva. Let us note that it was only thanks to his efforts in the capital that the house-museum of the great poetess was opened. The head of the commission on the heritage of Osip Emilievich Mandelstam is also Robert Rozhdestvensky. The biography of Mandelstam becomes the main subject of work in it. It is also Rozhdestvensky who composes the poetic collection of Vladimir Vysotsky "Nerve". It became the first collection of works of the bard released in the country.

On August 19, 1994, the life of Christmas breaks off. The reason is myocardial infarction. The poet was buried at Peredelkino Cemetery, which is located not far from the famous writer's settlement. And after a few months in the capital published a collection called "The Last Poems of Robert Rozhdestvensky."

Beginning of creativity

From an early age, Robert grew up talented and gifted. The boy visited the military musical school, wrote his children's poems. The first of them was published in 1941 in one of the city publications. It was called "With my rifle, my dad goes on a campaign." By the way, Robert sent his fee for it to the Defense Fund. While still a schoolboy, he and his friends often took part in concerts for the wounded.

The main characteristics of creativity

As mentioned, the poet Robert Rozhdestvensky began to print from the 50s of the last century. He entered the history of literature as one of the representatives of "young poetry" together with Evgeny Evtushenko, Bella Akhmadulina, Bulat Okudzhava. Verses of Christmas distinguish bright freshness, sincerity, lyricism, combined with the highest civic pathos.

In the 1960s Robert Rozhdestvensky actively collaborated with outstanding composers of those years. The songs on his poems have become a true classic. They sound in cult films, among them "Elusive Avengers", "Seventeen Moments of Spring", "Love of the Earth".

In the poet's works the fate of a whole generation with experiences and joys, gainings and losses is clearly reflected. Is not that because we love Robert Rozhdestvensky? His biography is closely intertwined with the life of society. At first he is a romantic, dreaming of wanderings, adventures, love. Gradually in the poet's lines appears wisdom, experience is reflected.

Poems of Christmas

Publicism is imbued with most of his poems. Robert Rozhdestvensky filled them with high civil pathos, moralizing, didactic. Poems amaze their acute topicality, even youth, even those that are devoted to the relationship of men and women. This is, for example, the first of them is "My Love". The most famous not only in Russia, but also abroad was the poem "Requiem". Christmas dedicated to her memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War.

A family

The family of Robert Rozhdestvensky always occupied the most important place in the life of the poet. His wife, Alla Borisovna Kireeva, spent her whole life working as a literary critic. In addition, she was a talented artist. It is interesting that this woman was his only love. The poet met with Alla back in the institute and did not part until the very end of his life. From this union there were two daughters: Catherine and Xenia. Children of Robert Rozhdestvensky live in Moscow. They, without any doubt, inherited the vivid talent of their father. The eldest has become a talented photo artist, and is also engaged in the translation of fiction. The youngest daughter of Robert Rozhdestvensky is a gifted journalist and culturologist.

Awards and memories

The work of an amazing poet is rewarded with an honorable prize of the Leninist Komsomol. And his name was given to one of the minor planets eighteen years ago .

In addition, the memory of the poet is preserved in his native places thanks to memorial signs and memorable events. So, one of the city libraries of Omsk bears the name of Robert Rozhdestvensky. In his honor, literary readings are conducted in the region, and in the native village of the poet Kosikha - the center of patriotic education of the younger generation of his name was opened.

And, of course, the memory of the poet's work remains in the hearts of admirers of his talent. Robert Rozhdestvensky, whose biography is so similar to the life of all Russian people, touched on his inspirational lines some special, sensitive strings of our hearts, and they now respond to these simple, but so faithful and beautiful poems.
