River Pur: description and photo

In the basin of the Kara Sea there is the river Pur. Its length is 389 kilometers. And with the river Piakupur and its tributary r. Yangyagun - 1024 kilometers. Pur is one of the longest Russian rivers. The area of its basin is 112 thousand square kilometers. Pur enters the Kara Taz Bay.

Geography of the river

The river flows in the Yamal-Nenets District. The reservoir has approximately 6,351 water outflows. Of these, almost eighty percent have a length of less than ten kilometers. The rivers are 50-100 kilometers long - 57. And more than a hundred kilometers - 40. Pura heights - from 15 to 50 meters above sea level. The width of the channel is from 200 to 850 meters. The depth of the rolls is 1.2 meters. The Pur River flows through the permafrost region. Therefore, warm islands are rare.

The main fossils in the basin of the river Pur are oil and natural gas. In the valley of the pond there are carnelian and agate gems. The Pur River flows in the tundra and forest zones. Most of the channel is in the northern taiga. The swell of the area along the Pur River is about seventy percent. The food of the river is mainly snow. Pura is characterized by spring high water, winter and summer low water and autumn floods.

Flora and fauna

In the upper reaches of the river grow deciduous, coniferous and lichen-moss forests. In the middle of the river and in the lower reaches the pond is surrounded by bushes and floodplain meadows. The river Pur is rich in whitefish (omul, chir, vendace, etc.). And also there are many carp, sterlet, roach and other small things. You can catch flounder and salmon in the mouth. But in winter, the river is observed bezrybe. All underwater living creatures try to concentrate in narrow tributaries or outcrops of groundwater.

Crossing

One of the longest Russian reservoirs is the Pur River. Crossing over it pontoon-pavement. It is transported and various cargoes. The crossing is equipped with floating supports. Despite the huge mass, the structure is absolutely unsinkable. The advantage of this crossing is that it can be used anywhere in the river. And to the original bridge periodically join additional links. As a result, the length of the crossing considerably increases. It consists of several parts:

  • Bridge pontoon areas;
  • Shore retainers;
  • flooring;
  • Ramp, or an incline.

The ferry is two-way, which is its big advantage. This increases the bandwidth. The carrying capacity of the ferry is up to 100 tons. This floating bridge is easily assembled and dismantled. Sometimes the ferry is used as a quay for small river boats.

Bridge

In 2015, it was planned to build a bridge over the river Pur. And the technical plan was almost completed. The bridge was planned to be built between the village of Urengoy and Korotchaevo station. The structure was to withstand the movement of cars. Therefore, according to the plan, eleven poles were to be installed.

The bridge over Pur should be one kilometer long, and road approaches - 2700 meters. Along the entire structure will be installed modern lighting, alarm and video surveillance. The bridge is designed to carry large volumes of cargo.

Therefore, travel on the auto pass through the Pur will be paid. An exception is made only for the local population. Six billion rubles are required for the construction of the bridge. In 2016, the bridge project awaited its final approval. And the construction period of the structure is from 2017 to 2019.

The bridge over the river Pur is very important for the development of the region. The new transition is included in the plan for the development of the Arctic. At the moment, only the pontoon crossing works between Korotchaevo station and Urengoi settlement. But much will change in the coming years, when a new bridge will be erected through this river.
