Districts of Samara: a brief description

The city of Samara is divided into 9 administrative districts. Each of them has its own differences, features and its own face.

Industrial area

This is a territory that was formed in 1978. The industrial area of Samara is considered to be the largest in terms of population. Its length is 12.3 km, and the average width is 2.4 km. The population is 267 thousand people.

There are two higher educational institutions: the Law Institute and the Academy of Public Administration. A large number of industrial enterprises, including: the plant named after Tarasov, oxygen and reinforced concrete plants, confectionery and gypsum mills.

There are religious buildings, such as the Cathedral of Cyril and Methodius, the Cathedral Mosque, which are also local attractions, with pleasure visited by tourists.

Kirovsky district of Samara

Formed in 1942. The district is considered one of the largest in Samara, with a population of 228 thousand people. The borders are separated by the streets of the Athletic, Krasnodonskaya, Pskov, 9 cuttings, the embankment of the Volga River and Samara, Kirov Avenue, Orlovsky Ravine, Barboshina Pole.

The reason for the pride of the residents of the district is school No. 98. In 1941, all graduates voluntarily went to the front, headed by the headmaster, immediately after receiving the certificates.

From industrial enterprises there are: a producer of carrier rockets, aviation and metallurgical, a plant for ferroconcrete products, a bakery, a factory for the production of Coca-Cola and some others. There are many educational institutions: kindergartens, schools, 4 technical schools, shelters.

Sports is very developed, there are 4 stadiums in the district: Mayak, Metallurg, Zvezda, Voskhod. There are tourist attractions - the park of the 50th anniversary of October, the Alley of Labor Glory, the water park, the monument to the IL-2 Sturmovik, assembled in Samara and past the glorious battle route.

Sovetskiy district of Samara

There is since 1939. By area, the district is not very large, 177 thousand inhabitants live in it. In its territory there are several industrial enterprises, such as bearing, plant of airfield equipment, fat combine, cable company and others.

There are several educational institutions: the University of Railways, Aviation, Machine-Building Technical Schools, the Economic University.
Districts of Samara, Soviet is not an exception, they have a lot of parks and squares, such as the Victory and Friendship parks. Also here is the mosque, Mayakovsky Square.

Oktyabrsky district

Until 1962, the Oktyabrsky district was Stalin's. The population is 123 thousand people. Borders - Michurin Street, Polevaya, Gagarin, Aurora, the Soviet Army, Solnechnaya, Moscow Highway.

There are many educational institutions on the territory, including aerospace, technical, medical universities. In Oktyabrsky district a considerable number of enterprises, among them: auto repair plant, tobacco factory and others.

Railway district

The region was founded in 1970, the population is 95 thousand people. The railway was named this territory thanks to the station, located in its center.

The district recreation zones include: the Shchorsa park, Gagarin squares, Aerodromy, Tolevy and others. There are many monuments here, for example Shchorsu, the wall of the pilot Olga Sanfirova.

Like other areas of Samara, Zheleznodorozhny has educational institutions-schools, a lyceum, a technical school of light industry and a railway school.

Kuibyshev district

The population is 87 thousand people. It includes several villages: the Military Town, the Ridge, the Vodniki, the Rubezhny and some others.

Many areas of Samara, like the one described, have large industrial facilities on their territory. In this case we are talking about an oil refinery, the production of burgolines, the company of panels and a heater.

Samara Region

The district was formed in 1956. It is located in an easily recognizable place. This is the center of historical memory. Next to it is the pedestrian zone of Leningradskaya street. People called her Arbat. The population living in this territory is over 30 thousand in number.

In addition to these, there are two more territorial districts in Samara: Leninsky and Krasnoglinsky. They contain many historical buildings, attractions and simply beautiful places of the big city. The districts of Samara, which were discussed in the article, together make up a large city on the Volga with a unique appearance.
