Renault 19 - a car with a high reputation

Renault 19, produced in the past by the French corporation Renault, is one of the most popular cars on the European market. The car was produced in large quantities and sold, we can say, "from the wheels", never staying in car dealerships and shopping centers.

The high demand for a certain brand of the car is always connected with the reputation of the manufacturer, with the reputation of the model itself, with the technical characteristics of the machine and, finally, with its maintenance during operation, unconditional and on demand. All of the above conditions were fully met by the manufacturer, the motto of the attendants in overalls with the Renault logo was the following: "We will do more than we are required - there will be more buyers than we need."

Indeed, Reno's policy was focused on the redundancy of proposals. For example, the buyer ordered a car with ordinary upholstery, and he was offered a salon with velor upholstery without any additional payment. The man was not only pleased to feel such concern, for him the day of purchase of Renault 19 became festive, he left in a new car, shining with happiness. And no one knew that the velor upholstery had been included in the total cost of the car in advance. Thus, gifts were made to customers with their advance payment. Well, let's forgive the producers of their innocent games of an economic nature, especially since the Renault 19 was really a very reliable, economical and high-speed car, the model combined absolutely all the qualities that the buyer wanted to see when buying a car.

To the absolute indisputable advantages of Renault 19, it is necessary to attribute first of all the absolutely unique arrangement of the engine, front suspension and steering column on a separate frame, which was connected to the chassis indirectly, not directly and with the same rigidity as inherent in the spars in connection with the base frame. This design feature was not specified in the passport of the machine, although the maintenance manual mentioned in passing that, due to unloading the basic components of the car, its safety is increased and the trauma danger significantly decreases.

In fact, so it was, with an emergency impact of crushing power, there was no fatal movement of the engine, gearbox, front suspension and steering gear in the cabin. The blow, no matter what strength it was, was still extinguished by an intermediate frame.

Specifications Renault 19, reviews on which did not leave much to be desired, were at the level of the latest achievements of the automotive industry in the nineties. The engines were three, of varying power, to choose from. Two gasoline with injection fuel mixture and one turbodiesel, the power of only 65 hp, but with a huge resource.

Variety was traced not only in motor vehicle maintenance. Renault 19 can be safely called the record for the number of modifications. They were more than a hundred, and among the most significant - the development of Renault 19 Europa, which was made at one of the peripheral factories in Turkey.

Several major modifications continued until production ceased in 1995, when Renault 19 gave way to its successor Renault Megane. Nevertheless, after the stoppage of the Renault 19 production at the main factory facilities, the production of the car continued in numerous branches of Renault, in different countries, near and far. Renault 19 collected another seven years, until 2002.
