But the main initiator of the creation was the future director of the Pushkin Museum in Moscow - Alexander Zinovyevich Kerin, who dedicated this institution all his life. This is truly a man of legend, since no one, perhaps, could have given himself up to this business as he does. Alexander Zinovievich remarkably performed his functions.

Today the museum is run by Evgeny Bogatyrev, who is one of the best art historians in Russia. He is a full member of the International Academy of Sciences.
