Voronezh, the museum "Diorama" - the center of military and patriotic education of children and youth

Patriotic education of children and youth is an important component of the educational process. True patriotism is impossible without knowledge of the history of the native land, cultural achievements of ancestors, feats of officers and soldiers defending their native country. Museums play an important role in shaping the sense of patriotism. To learn more about the military history of the country, to visit mass graves, Voronezh invites thematic expositions. The Museum "Diorama" gathered military and patriotic relics of Russia and the Voronezh Region under one roof.

Exposition

There are several exhibition halls in the museum building. The exhibition, dedicated to the defenders of the city from the Nazis, was located in the foyer. Attention of visitors is offered a map of military operations in Voronezh and its environs. At the exhibition "In Memory of the Fallen" portraits of commanders of ancient times, commanders of the Civil War, marshals of the USSR are presented.

The main exposition is in a large exhibition hall, the center of which is occupied by a mini-diorama depicting the battle on the Chizhovsky bridgehead. A canvas six-meter wide and two-meter long was made by the tenth anniversary of the museum.

The battles on "Chizhovka" began in September 1942. Soldiers, among whom were representatives of the Voronezh people's militia, recaptured the city from an enemy superior to Soviet troops. Victory on the right-bank outskirts of the city (1943) allowed the Voronezh-Kastorensky offensive to begin. Today, on the site of the bloody battles, a branch of Diorama operates.

At the site of the second floor are collected exhibits dedicated to the navy. Visitors are interested in decrees of Peter I, a submarine of the times of the Patriotic War (mock-up), the anchor of a Turkish ship of the XVIII century, found in the Azov Sea, and other relics.

Voronezh is a city in which airborne troops were formed. Portraits of servicemen involved in an important event are located on the second floor. There is also a showcase with personal items of the air force commander's office, information, documentary materials, a table reflecting the combat path of the airborne troops.

Administration and staff of the museum did not ignore the soldiers-internationalists. In a separate room, materials are presented about the heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia, who fought in Spain, Cuba, Afghanistan, Africa, and the North Caucasus.

Common grave No. 6

The memorial complex dedicated to the war on fascism, together with the Diorama, includes an exhibition of armored vehicles, artillery and a mass grave with registration number 6. Here, soldiers and officers who died in battles for the city are buried.

In 1942, German troops took over part of Voronezh. To free the city from enemies, Soviet soldiers were entrenched in the area between the Vaughresov Bridge and the Chernavskaya Dam. Fascists all the time bombed and fired at the fighters. The dead soldiers were buried in a grove near the village of Monastyrschenki. Today the area is part of the city, and the grove has been transformed into the Patriots Park.

Until the beginning of the 1990s, a monument erected above the mass grave: a soldier breaks a swastika. The monument was dismantled, but in 2010, in connection with the appropriation of Voronezh title "City of military glory" in front of the building "Diorama" appeared stele.
