Pre-cancerous condition or mastopathy of the breast?

Recently, quite often in women of different ages, there is such a disease of the mammary glands as mastopathy. Thus, mastopathy of the breast is the most common disease of the female, which is a benign formation (cyst), which appears due to the growth of breast tissue, in particular connective and glandular. This disease is present in 60% of women.

There is mastopathy of the breast as a result of hormonal disorder, gynecological diseases, frequent stresses, various diseases of the thyroid gland and liver, as well as with heredity. Often such a disease is accompanied by infertility, against its background may occur uterine myoma, endometriosis, fibroadenoma, papillomatosis and even cancer.

The common causes of the disease are an imbalance of sex hormones, estrogen and progesterone, and a violation of menstruation. With an increase in estrogen and a simultaneous decrease in progesterone, mastopathy occurs.

Hormonal imbalance occurs:

  • At the age of more than forty years;
  • With "bad" heredity;
  • In diseases of the endocrine system;
  • With frequent stressful situations;
  • With diabetes and high blood pressure;
  • As consequences of abortion or late pregnancy;
  • In other circumstances.

Thus, dyshormonal mastopathy can develop for many reasons.

Mastopathy can be of several types:

  • Nodal, which is due to the presence of one node in the mammary gland. It is recommended that under such a mastopathy, an additional examination be conducted to exclude the presence of a cancerous tumor;
  • Diffuse, which is caused by the formation of many small nodes in the mammary gland. This requires a local examination and therapeutic treatment.

By the type of expanding tissue in the mammary gland, mastopathy of the mammary gland happens:

  • Fibrotic - here the connective tissue predominates;
  • Cystic-the alveoli and ducts are affected;
  • Mixed.

The first symptom of the disease is pain and heaviness in the chest. Also there are seals in the mammary gland, and their volume increases, there are some discharge from the mammary glands.

With diffuse mastopathy, seals appear in both breasts, there are pains before the onset of the menstrual cycle. Seals can be soft and hard. With nodal mastopathy, the seals are not enlarged and have a granular surface, they are located mainly on one breast. Diagnosis of the disease can be through ultrasound, mammography and cytology.

Considering the question of whether mastopathy is treated, it should be noted that an individual approach is required here. Treatment should be comprehensive and aimed at eliminating the causes of breast disease, gynecological diseases, as well as improving the functioning of the nervous system and the liver. The doctors use hormonal drugs, anti-estrogens and oral contraceptives, and also use analgesics and homeopathic medicines, which are now common. So, herbal preparations and phytohormones are increasingly used to treat this disease, although they need to be used for a fairly long time, the results still get positive. In some cases, surgical treatment of the disease is advisable.

It should be remembered that mastopathy of the breast does not indicate a precancerous condition, only similar neoplasms can develop into cancer. In any case, it is necessary to conduct a survey to exclude cancer and begin treatment immediately to prevent complications.
