Powerful computers for games. Building a gaming computer

So, you decided to build an inexpensive gaming computer, but with the expectation that he would pull all the modern games and his capacity was enough for the next two or three years. We will focus on the budget in 40-45 thousand rubles. Collecting something cheaper does not make sense, because in about a year it will be necessary to add, improve and spend again.

Immediately it is worth noting that fans of significant overclocking space for such components will be small, if you want peak capacity, then be ready to pay for only one motherboard (for example, the SaberTooth or Rampage series) about 25 thousand rubles, and other components will also be Far from cheap. For the allotted amount, you can collect enough powerful computers for games without too much frills.

Processor and cooler

To buy the top one for today the processor of a series i7 from "Intel" and at the same time with it to save on the other components does not make sense. This imbalance will lead to the fact that a powerful chip will be idle for a considerable part of the time, since a video card, hard drive and RAM will not open it completely.

Powerful computers for games, but at the same time, inexpensive ones will feel fine under the control of the processor i5 on the well-proven Haswell architecture. The average price for such chips varies within the limits of 15 thousand rubles (spring, 2016). You can stop on the middle version in the face of i5-4440 with a frequency of 3100 MHz and a cache of the third level at 6144 KB.

The model will perfectly match the video card described below, and the capabilities of both the processor and the video accelerator will be 100% open. Also it is worth noting that it is not worthwhile to take a chip with the prefix K (for overclocking), since the budget is too small, and the prices for such processors are much higher.

Even an inexpensive gaming computer should not be assembled with a BOX cooler, that is, with a cooling system that comes with the processor. It is better to buy a chip without it (OEM) at all and spend money on a good cooler that will not allow overheating or unstable operation of the system - you can not save here. The best option for this case will be Deepcool Gamma Archer, which will cost you about 500 rubles. Remember that a separate and high-quality cooler for the processor is not a luxury, but a necessity.

Motherboard

Finding the main parameters of the motherboard is quite simple, but the remaining technical nuances for some can be a problem. The first thing we need from the MP is the LGA 1150 socket for the chosen processor. Also, powerful computers for games should be equipped with at least two slots for memory in order to work in a two-channel mode.

Another important parameter is the slot for the video card, it must be a PCI-E x16 type 3.0 standard. Difficulties can arise when choosing a chipset, because there are some subtleties here. Powerful gaming computers are preferably assembled using RAID technology ( independent disk arrays ), but this is not our case, since we will have only one hard drive.

Since the processor we have without overclocking capability, the chipset based on Z87 nm is completely useless, and its multifunctionality will simply go nowhere. Budget types H81 or B85 will fit perfectly into modest requirements, but this does not mean that you can not build powerful computers for games on such chipsets. The series supports memory with a frequency of 1600 MHz (more than enough), there is a slot for the video card 3.0, it is possible to work with SATA hard drives at a speed of 6 Gb / s. That is, overpay for the fact that we will be idle, it makes no sense.

Optimum option in our case will be the motherboard from the "Asus" series B85M-G, completely satisfying our requirements both in terms of technical characteristics and price (4 thousand rubles).

RAM

It seems that there is nothing complicated here either: take a bigger volume, and that's it, but even here there are nuances and pitfalls. Most of the bars are similar in their technical characteristics, but it is still necessary to choose the best and inexpensive.

As for the frequency of RAM, there are no options here - this is 1600 MHz, which corresponds to the requirements of the motherboard, and powerful gaming computers with a higher frequency - simply superfluous investment of money, since you will not notice a special difference between 1600 MHz and 2400 MHz "Benchmark."

The main problem lies in the amount of RAM. What to take: two on 4 GB or one on 8 GB? Whatever the overclockers say, for our system the best option will be one 8 GB bar. This step is primarily aimed at significant budget savings (one bar is much cheaper than two separately with the same volume). Speaking of performance, the difference is so small that it's almost impossible to see it in games, but only in special applications that are designed for compiling graphics and complex calculations (which we absolutely do not need, since we are assembling a gaming computer) .

Therefore, overpay two thousand rubles in this case, there is no sense. An excellent option for our assembly - Kingston KVR16N11 / 8 with a consumption of 1.5 V (without a radiator) and a price of 3.5 thousand rubles.

Video card

It is for this item that we have saved the rest of the components (within the reasonable, of course). The video accelerator is the heart of the gaming system unit, and the answer is only one - the video card is out of date when asked why the games are slow on a powerful computer.

Collecting a gaming computer for 45 thousand rubles, you can with peace of mind spend almost half of the budget for this component. The best of all that can be selected in the allotted frames is the GeForce GTX 950 from Asus or Gigabit for 15 thousand rubles. With such a video card, you will not experience any problems with FPS and friezes, so the savings here are out of place.

Hard disk and power supply

Popular nowadays SSD and HDD cords do not fit into our assembly, so it's better to stop on an ordinary "terabyte" from "Western Digital" from the WD10EZEX series for about 3 thousand rubles. In the future, you can buy and put a super-fast hard drive, but for the beginning it will come in handy and this option.

As for the power supply unit, the main energy consumer in modern computers is a video card, but in our case it is designed for 90 W, so there is enough 400 watts per eye. But if you want to be safe for the future, you can take a power supply with a margin of 500 watts. Here, specific models are hard to name, but the preference is best given to the brands Zalman, Corsair and FSP.

Housing

It all depends on your personal preference. Since there are no more than 2 thousand rubles left on the case, it is possible to stop on the tested and quality version from Zalman - Z1 Black. It has a very good material, good fans, simplicity and a comfortable front panel, and it looks very presentable.
