His work, which can be recalled from memory, is included in the compulsory program. But few know how he was during his lifetime. Portrait of Tyutchev try to consider in this article.

Love of literature - since childhood

Fedor Ivanovich was born in 1803 in the Bryansk district, which belonged to Orel province. He came from a noble family, rich and noble, who could afford to live in Moscow. When Fyodor was ten years old, S.E. Raich, a mentor who influenced the love of literature that the writer will carry through his entire life. He read classics, excelled in a poetic translation, entered the university, received a Ph.D., moved to St. Petersburg, and later to Munich, where he lived for more than twenty years.

Introducing Tyutchev's portrait, we are talking about an incredibly educated, erudite and subtle person who gives birth to works, plunging into the depths in search of meaning. In his teenage years Tiutchev's translations gained great recognition among many literary critics and public figures of the time.

Personal life is not a hindrance to success

Countess Botmer, originally from Bavaria, became the wife of the poet. Their home turned into a place of concentration of the intelligentsia and bohemia. After her death, Fyodor Ivanovich married with Baroness Dernheim, who at that time did not know Russian and did not understand the works of her husband. For several decades it has been successfully printed, including abroad.

Tyutchev Fyodor Ivanovich is fond of political articles. They make a strong impression on society. The poet found like-minded people in the person of Nekrasov and Turgenev. The latter helped him to publish in the "Contemporary". Soon, other magazines ("Russian Messenger", "Bottom", "Moskvityanina") in the interim are ready to take his poems. The most famous of them are placed on the pages of the textbook: "Spring Water", "Spring Thunderstorm", "Quiet Night ...".

Wrote a huge number of works, Tyutchev does not find the proper recognition. Mostly he is familiar to a narrow circle of admirers of his talent. Quite often the critics were silent, indignant: do they really have nothing to say?

Social activity

Tyutchev was elected State Counselor, and in 1858 he was appointed to the Committee of Foreign Censorship. The poet has always been interested in political life, and in particular the situation in individual European countries. In many ways, this affected the reason for his move abroad. As he himself noted, the homeland in which he lived little, interested him appropriately and practically did not attract.

In 1872 Tyutchev Feodor Ivanovich felt the first symptoms of deterioration of health. His vision failed, he lost his left hand, later he was paralyzed. July 15, 1873 the poet died in Tsarskoe Selo.

Endless memory

In the hearts of his colleagues, the poet left an indelible mark. It has survived to this day. Who does not remember "I love a storm in early May"? Or "Can not you understand Russia with your mind"?

How did he remember St. Petersburg society, which was successful? Portrait Tyutcheva, composed by contemporaries, highlights it among the professors of that era. The ability to be profound and brilliant, to justify accepted norms and views remained his characteristic features, creating, among other things, a favorable position for him.

Portrait of Tiutchev through the eyes of contemporaries

The circle to which the poet belonged, can best leave good memories. Among his contemporaries, friends, colleagues there was a large number of like-minded people, whom he enjoyed respect. Among them IS Aksakov, his biographer and son-in-law in combination, fellow worker IS Gagarin, Count VA Sollogub, memoirist AA Fet. He was remembered as a bright interlocutor, instantly giving accurate remarks, an astute thinker, an incorrigible worker, who first of all created for himself. The poet was amazed at his ability to express himself before him, making him an unsurpassed lyricist, escaping from all sorts of epic elements.

Portrait of FI Tyutchev: from a living image to a painting

The well-known collector P. Tretyakov, who, among others, warmly treated the poet, was saddened that his famous gallery does not contain Tyutchev's portrait. Unfortunately, during the life of the latter, this was not done. Maecenas ordered the work of the artist SF Aleksandrovsky, who copied the image of the poet from a photograph. The painting was written in 1876. On it Tyutchev (photo attached) is shown by an aged man, with gray hair combed back, exposing a high forehead. His clothes were careless, and his glasses hid a sadly ironical look.

Portrait Tyutchev, a prominent representative of the then literary era, it is necessary to supplement the remark of Turgenev. He believed that he was suffering from his writing. Poetry poetry as if created for a specific occasion, but they were born spontaneously, and not invented as necessary. Tyutchev's special feature was the philosophical lyrics, which amazed not by the variety, but by the depth of thought.
