Jason Todd: comics, computer game, movie and story about Batman's team-mate

The company that creates comics about the city's night defender, has a character very much like a "man in bat costume." The name of this character is Red Cap, he is considered an anti-hero Batman series. However, he used to be called Robin. The cap is the reborn image of the famous character.

The appearance of the anti-heroic "double" of Batman

Robin - this is actually a fictional character Jason Todd, who is part of a series of graphic novels about Batman. Now, fans of comics know it as Red Cap.

What makes him look like the hero of Gotham? The costume of the period when Robin did not cross a line of supreme aggression and helped his mentor in the fight against crime.

Reborn in Kolpak, he learned to own firearms. At the same time the arsenal was quite impressive and very similar to that used by Batman.

Robin was in the comic book No. 366 about Batman and then for five years he did not disappear from the pages of the book "universe". However, later his fate was decided by telephone voting, trusting the fans themselves to take part in the selection of the final for the hero. After the vote was counted, a verdict was passed: "Kill." Fans with a slight margin said: "Jason Todd should be dead."

So fan elections were held, but after a while it turned out that one of the users used computer wrap-up votes. It is not known whether this affected the resumption of character comics, but Jason Todd literally rose in one of the 2003 numbers.

The Red Cap was chosen for the same reason that Batman made his bat a symbol. It was a way to convey your fear to criminals.

Meeting with Batman, or Jason's New Life Story

The appearance and subsequent formation of Todd as Robin is very vague. At first his story was presented as a "copy" of Grayson, supposedly he was born into a family of acrobats and was the adopted son of Bruce Wayne.

In a comic called The Crisis in Infinite Lands, Jason Todd is an orphan whose father, when working for Two-faced, disappeared, and his mother died of an overdose of drugs.

From this point on, the anti-hero gains a new history. Jason Todd, comics about which became a continuation of the history of Batman, also tells the story of their meeting. Bruce Wayne finds Jason stealing the wheels from the batmobile.

The defender of Gotham defines the bully in the school, where Todd was to be re-educated. However, it turned out that the school has a gang of thieves, whose leader is the director. It was during this period that Jason Todd's story is mentioned as Robin, but he becomes the full owner of this name only after a six-month training session.

Batman believed that if you properly motivate the guy, then he will not become a criminal. In one comic, Jason Todd confirms the correctness of this approach and helps his teacher save the city from the Deacon.

Todd and the Joker

The uniqueness of the story about the adventures of these heroes is the general "DiSi universe". One of the stars of the common "space" is Jason Todd, the characters he met on the pages of subsequent issues are easily recognizable by fans, and managed to acquire their own adaptations. For example, a female cat.

There is in the history of Robin and the villain, who is not inferior to the famous Batman himself, and as is known from the comics, the main antagonist of the "winged" hero is the Joker.

Unable to cope with excessive aggression, Batman's partner was forced to abandon the fight against crime in order to clarify the secret of his birth, although in fact, Wayne simply ousted him. Robin finds the main and fatal secret for him, revealing that, he understands that the deceased mother was a receptionist. From his father's records Todd learns about the existence of his own mother, but does not find any mention of her location. Detect addresses Jason helps the computer Batman, although there are suspicions when reading the comics that the Joker specifically sent a seeker of "family truth" in a cleverly arranged "joker" trap.

As a result, the criminal kills both Robin and his mother. Batman's farewell scene with Robin is if not the most memorable moment in the comics, then, undoubtedly, a wonderful ending for the joint history of the two defenders of one city.

Game version of the character

In the second half of 2015, players who bought a computer project called "Batman: Knight Arkham" could appreciate a new addition, where the character could become the Red Hood. Curiously, this is Todd's first appearance in the gaming industry. After all, if you follow the modern history of Jason, then after resurrection by now he changed his name from Robin to the Hood (in some variations of Kolpak).

Addition to the storyline is a great way to try yourself out as a character who in one of the comic releases was on one side with Batman.

The plot is short and runs for an hour, but jump, shoot and fight with members of the gang "Black Mask" time is enough.

The game, where there is Jason Todd, whose photo flaunts on the main menu of additional stories - that's what a gift from developers can not be missed.

All the events that occur in the computer game are borrowed by the company "Rokstodi" from comics "DiSi". Knight Arkham is a completely new character, which was invented by the above-described company and Jeff Jones, the man who created several comic books about Batman. A new gaming antagonist is presented as an armed "toothless" Batman double, and the logo on the chest in the shape of the letter "A" speaks of his connection with the clinic, where, as is known, many comic book characters "Di C" visited.

And what about the adaptations?

In 1997, a film was released on the screens, which told about the adventures of two characters - Robin and Batman. The film is the last part of the trilogy directed by Schumacher (meaning Joel). The duet of superheroes was performed by two actors: George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell.

Of course, the image of Batman in the "Birth of the Legend" is better if you compare the final parts of the trilogy, but Robin no longer appeared on the screen as a hero or an anti-hero.

An anti-hero? No, it's just a life like this.

The anti-hero is not the most enjoyable title given to Jason's fans. True, the cause of his anger is in the attempt to find a member of his family, which is a serious justification for all his dark affairs. In the end, the Red Hood, Robin and Jason died at the hands of the Joker. Perhaps, excuses - that's what makes Todd more of a positive character than a villain.
