Pompey Group: History and composition

Group "Pompey" appeared on the Russian stage relatively recently, but has already found its army of fans. Their music and vocals are unique and do not resemble anything. Detailed information about the team is contained in the article.

History of creation

Four guys, real professionals in the field of music and vocals, decided to organize the team and conquer the Moscow audience. The Pompey Group was established in 2006. Unlike other performers on our stage, the guys did not have to go to success and fame for a long time.

The very first performance of the band brought him popularity. Fashionable metropolitan clubs interested in the group "Pompey". Photos of four fellow musicians began to decorate the posters of these institutions. At parties, they performed together with such mastodons of the scene as Travis and Stereo-phonics.

• Daniel Brod (guitar and vocals);
• Alexander Lipsky (keys);
• Nairi Simonyan (drums);
• Denis Agafonov (bass guitar).

Continuation of career

The music that the guys perform is a kind of mix of guitar parts, dance pop rock and vocals in new wave. Members of the team believe that their compositions are typical for the 70-80-ies of the last century.

In 2007, the Pompey group was awarded the Golden Gargoyle Club Award. This is a very good result, given the fact that only one year has passed since its inception. Usually this award went to foreign collectives, for example, Crystal Castles and Stereo MCs. Our heroes managed to prove that Russian dance music is also worth something.

Dizzy success in the club sphere pushed the guys to create their own unique style. Almost 1.5 years they did not get out of the recording studios. Soon the band presented a single and a video for the song Cheenese. The result of their work fell in favor of fastidious Moscow party.

In the period from 2007 to 2012, Pompeya group participates in club music festivals. Among them you can distinguish "Picnic Afisha", Faces & Laces, Stereo-leto and others. And to this day the guys are touring in major cities of Russia, Moldova, Vietnam and Belarus.

Albums and their presentations

In May 2012, the vinyl version of the single Cheenese was released. The record was limited edition, so not all fans of the group were able to buy it. Soon the album Night appeared on sale. It included the 4 best tracks from Pompeya. This work of the group was highly appreciated not only by fans, but also by music critics.

In November 2014, the presentation of the new album "Pompeii" was held. It included 7 tracks, including two remixes for the already known singles - Satellite and Night. In October, the record was available on iTunes. This album was called "Liar" (in English Liar). The same name composition appealed to many Internet users. The music used in it, as it envelops the listener, immerses it in his atmosphere.
