History

The polygon "Prudba" was known even before the Great Patriotic War. On its territory until the fall of 1942, the formation of tank brigades was conducted, as well as their combat coordination. Among them, the legendary 4th Panzer Brigade of Colonel M. Katukov is also named, who later received the honorary title of the First Guards Tank Brigade.

In the federal rating, the "Prudba" range was named the best among the inter-species (combined-arms) analogues. Such a contest in 2017 was held for the first time. In its three nominations were presented aviation, land and sea testing ranges.

In the last 2016, Prudhba became the site for large-scale exercises of rear services, in particular, one of the largest and most complex stages of the first after the creation of Rosgvardia its joint tactical anti-terrorist exercises Kavkaz-2016 with the Airborne Forces. These strategic training exercises (command-staff exercises) of South-East Asia were conducted in 2016 in the period from 5 to 11 September to verify the real state of the mobilization and combat readiness of troops to perform the assigned tasks.

In the course of the events, new modern forms of methods for the use of military operations were tested. The main attention was paid to the organization of a clear interaction between the land, sea and air components of the inter-service military grouping. The issues of mass transfer of equipment and personnel over long distances in the conditions of the existence of terrorist threats in the region were worked out.

In total, 12,600 military personnel participated in the maneuvers, the latest technology, fleet and aviation were involved. The exercises involved the forces of the Airborne Forces, VKS, Northern, Black Sea and Caspian fleets. According to the head of the exercises, the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation V. Gerasimov, a new combined-arms army is being formed in the south-west direction.

June 10, 2017 at the training ground "Prudba" hosted the finals of the All-Army Games, launched on June 5. Servicemen competed in such spectacular and striking disciplines as "Tank biathlon" and "Suvorov's onslaught".

For the right to be called the winner, crews from the Western, Eastern, Southern and Central Military Districts, the Airborne Forces, the Northern Fleet, the Kazan Higher Command Tank Red Banner School competed. In total, 7 crews of the Armed Forces of Russia were concentrated on the range.

In the team standings for tank biathlon, the first place was occupied by the tankers of the South-Eastern Military District, in the second place - the participants of the East Military District (East Military District), the third was the team of the Kazan Tank School.
