Polyarthritis of the fingers, its symptoms, treatment and prevention methods

Polyarthritis is a chronic inflammation of the joints, which is characterized by an individual course. A common sign of the disease is the inflammation of the tissue surrounding the joint. It should be noted that the inflammatory process can cover several joints simultaneously. Polyarthritis of the fingers can provoke serious diseases such as gonorrhea, viral hepatitis and dysentery. Often, the inflammation leads to a violation of metabolic processes, a local injury and even an allergy.

Symptoms of the disease

Polyarthritis of the hands has a number of symptoms that depend on the nature of the disease itself. For example, infectious polyarthritis is accompanied by reddening and the appearance of swelling over the joint, the mobility of which during this period can be substantially limited.

The polyarthritis of the rheumatoid arms is quite easy. As a rule, the joints make themselves felt when the weather changes sharply, when minor swelling begins to appear, excessive sweating and fatigue are felt. In some cases, there may be an increase in temperature and weight loss due to a decrease in appetite.

Symptoms of posttraumatic polyarthritis include dull or aching pain in muscles and joints, a person has limited movements and an obvious crunch is heard in the area of the affected limbs. Over time, infection from edema can spread to other tissues and organs, which will lead to the development of furunculosis, abscess, erysipelas and other serious consequences.

In addition, the polyarthritis of the fingers can provoke muscle atrophy due to a decrease in muscle mass. If the timely treatment does not begin, the disease will lead to complete deformation of the fingers.

Treatment of polyarthritis

The first stage of treatment is aimed at the removal of painful symptoms, after which they begin to eliminate the underlying cause of the disease. Polyarthritis of the fingers requires modulated treatment, in which antitumor drugs, immunosuppressants and monoclonal antibody therapy are prescribed.

If the disease has a neglected form, hormonal and corticosteroid drugs are prescribed in the form of injections, ointments and tablets to reduce symptoms. With irreversible damage to the joints of the hands and fingers, the doctor may decide to perform an endoprosthesis replacement - a complete replacement of the deformed joints. This procedure is quite a cardinal method of treatment, so it is better not to bring it to her.
