Symptoms are caused by viral pathogens transmitted by airborne droplets, the place of their dislocation is the saliva of the infected person. Getting into the body, they penetrate to the salivary glands and cause inflammation. Transmission of infection occurs by direct contact with the infected, through toys, utensils, personal hygiene products.

Prevention

The main prevention of the disease is vaccination, which is done to babies of one-year-old age. But even ungrafted and unbearable adults are recommended by doctors for vaccination, because they have a much more complicated course of the disease and a high risk of complications.

The vaccine can react the body in the form of a rare rash, which is similar to measles, sometimes there is a slight increase in the parotid glands, but this is a normal reaction of the body, everything goes by itself.

There are contraindications to vaccination against mumps. The vaccination of people with weak immunity and those suffering from allergies is excluded.
