74 years old is the legendary film by Ivan Pyriev "Pig and Shepherd". Actors and roles performed by them, not only fell in love with the people, they became part of the life of the country in this difficult period.

The first days of the war

The film was completely removed before the war began, the final stage of work at the Mosfilm studio remained. Some articles mention the fact that the news about Nazi Germany's attack on our country was caught by the crew on the train, in which she was returning from Kabardino-Balkaria, where the film was over. Vladimir Zeldin was taken to the tank school, the director Ivan Pyryev came to the recruiting station, without waiting for the agenda, Nikolai Kryuchkov was eager for the front from the very first days of the war. But Joseph Stalin always followed closely the Soviet cinema, and with the onset of the war, this attention only intensified. He was well aware that all the male actors involved in this film at the front will benefit far less than the picture itself, which can raise the spirit of the fighters - it's this happy pre-war life that they are now defending in the trenches.

Therefore, Ivan Pyriev, standing in the ranks of volunteers, literally pulled out of service people who came to the recruiting station with "armor" for him and the entire film crew of the movie "Pig and Shepherd." Actors and the roles they performed, entered without exaggeration in every house. Now it's hard to imagine their (and actors, and roles) popularity, but it is off scale. They wrote letters of gratitude and delight from all corners of the country and, most importantly, from the front. And the song from this movie "A friend I'll never forget ..." lives and will live on, and it will be sung by more than one generation. But how much filth was poured on this film! And who now remembers even one name of angry authors? And the film as a stage in the development of Soviet art, as just a wonderful picture, which millions of inhabitants of the country saw, entered the "gold fund" of the film industry of the USSR.

Uncomplicated plot

The picture tells a simple story about two lovers who came to VDNH from distant corners of the vast country: he is a shepherd Musaib from the Dagestani aul, she is Glafira's pig from the collective farm in the Vologda region. Having dispersed on houses, they wait for a new meeting. Glasha, a beauty and well-known after a trip to Moscow, a person in his native village courted by a slacker Kuzma. He substitutes the letter Musaib and informs the girl that her chosen one got married in her native village. The wedding of Kuzma and Glasha is scheduled for Petrov's day. But good people tell handsome Musaib of danger, and he manages just at the right time - evil is punished, everyone is happy. The unique uniqueness of the film is that the characters in it speak in verse, but so organically that it does not cut the ear. The script was written by Viktor Gusev, music by Tikhon Khrennikov.

Three main roles

The selection of artists in the movie "Pig and Shepherd" was also a win-win. Actors of the film and the role, especially the two main ones, in the audience merged - on the "Mosfilm" there were thousands of letters to Glasha's svinek and shepherd Musaibu. Vladimir Zeldin was unusually good in his first role. If Larisa Ladynin and Nikolai Kryuchkov were already familiar with the whole country, and the film "Tractor drivers" brought them extraordinary fame and love of the whole people, the beauties of Zeldin appeared on the big screen for the first time. But he did a very good job of the task - sincere, ardent, in love, honest, and even the foremost of production. And all this is played simply and naturally. The first role became stellar.

Even episodic roles were remembered by the audience. A wonderful image of the barman Levon Mikhaylovich was created by Osip Abdulov (father of Vsevolod Abdulov). Good in the role of my grandmother Evdokia Slavaivtseva (Gorina).

Epochal film

Many things changed after Stalin's death. Those who praised something approved by the leader of the people during his lifetime, with the same zeal, began to trample it into the mud. From the credits of the film, the name of the director was cut out (motivation - "Stalin's order-bearer"), footage from the Exhibition of People's Economic Achievements with the figure of Stalin was also seized, and, interestingly, the film is now broadcasted with these bills of 50 years ago. Very vindictive exposers of the "personality cult", do not forgive dizzy successes. But the film "Pig and Shepherd", actors and roles performed by them, the name of the director, composer and screenwriter will forever remain in the history of Soviet cinema, because the authors shot this picture, as they breathed - sincerely and not because of awards.
