Personality traits - a tool for its characteristics

In psychology, the term "personality" usually refers to the totality of traits that characterize a particular person. As a rule, it is considered that it is possible to describe the personality only by characterizing its features. Therefore, personality traits - this is a fairly important and common concept in psychology.

All psychological tests, questionnaires and questionnaires are designed to reveal the personality traits. Why do they need to be identified? For the personality to be studied.

Characteristic personality traits may indicate the character of a person, his temperament and manner of behavior. This term is used by psychologists in order to reveal the structure of a person. Personality traits are characteristics of human behavior that manifest themselves under the influence of certain life circumstances.

Individual personality characteristics have a number of mandatory properties, in particular, the degree of their expression. In addition, it should be remembered that personality traits can manifest themselves in any situation. Another mandatory property - personality traits can be measured by means of special psychological tests.

What personality traits arouse greater interest among psychologists and are investigated more often?

First of all, it is impulsiveness and anxiety. In addition, necessarily introversion and extraversion of a person is revealed. However, modern science believes that the descriptions of these traits are not enough to predict the individual characteristics of human behavior. This is due to the fact that they describe only the general tendencies of the manifestation of the human personality.

Often the evaluation of the character and personality of the same person does not coincide. Moreover, sometimes they are absolutely opposite and mutually exclusive. Bad or complex character does not exclude that a person can be an outstanding person.

Psychologists share the personality traits of the instrumental and motivational. Instrumental personality traits give the person a certain style, and motivational motivations encourage him to take certain actions, direct them and support them.

The character of a person has the most direct relation to the instrumental features of his personality. He is more influenced by the manner of the actions of man, and not on their content. But there is no clear boundary between the instrumental and motivational features.

Sometimes the character of a person manifests itself when setting goals. However, when the goals are set, it is used by the person as a means of achieving them. That is, in this case its instrumental role is manifested.

In other words, personality traits reflect the goals of a person, and character traits - ways and ways to achieve them. The direction of human activity and its ways can be independent of each other, because you can achieve the same thing using the same methods, and you can achieve the same goal by resorting to different methods.

We note here that the character depends on the physiological condition of the person as well as his temperament. First of all, it is determined by the type of the individual's nervous system .
