Pedagogical abilities are a set of certain psychological characteristics that are an indispensable condition for the teacher to achieve success in the upbringing and education of children.

It is known that among features and characteristics of character that are components of a particular special feature or ability, some qualities play a leading role, while others are auxiliary. Speaking of abilities to pedagogy, the main ones here are communicative personal qualities, and, first of all, those that belong to the sphere of perception, for example - observability. Such properties contribute to an adequate understanding of the psychology of students, their morale in each specific case, the correct evaluation of the whole team (class) as a whole and the situation at a given moment. The communicative properties include understanding the psychological state of the students and the ability to empathize with them - empathy. A prerequisite for having such a trait is love and respect for children in general.

The teacher's pedagogical abilities imply the presence of a highly developed expressed need for social interaction, which is manifested in the desire to teach, pass knowledge, communicate with children, in an effort to rationally and profitably organize class activities, diversify their lives. To successfully realize this need, the teacher must be pedagogically tactful.

However, auxiliary features and personality traits are also important, which are also considered part of pedagogical abilities. First of all, these are some of the properties of the intellect: criticality, wit, consistency, and others. Oratory skills should also be present - speaking skills, good vocabulary will always give the teacher an advantage in the lesson and in the organization of children's leisure. Successful pedagogical activity makes artistry - the ability, if necessary, to fantasize, a living imagination.

Pedagogical abilities are not only a guarantee of the effective activity of the teacher, but also the result of his constant work on himself. These properties are manifested, formed and improved among many other psychological properties, actions and attitudes of the teacher. Special studies have been conducted, which, together with experience, prove that an independent, purposeful formation and development of pedagogical features is entirely possible. For example, observance is a trait that becomes more perfect with the accumulation of pedagogical experience and as a result of the efforts of the teacher. You can learn not only to notice the traits of the character of the students, but also to see the reasons for their origin, to feel how this or that feature manifests itself or can manifest itself in the current situation.

It is even easier to develop the ability to be beautiful and interesting to talk about, fantasy and artistry.

Diagnosis of pedagogical abilities is considered a tool that provides an opportunity to objectively identify and characterize the personality. This process is recognized as the basis of the activity of the teacher. Pedagogical abilities are identified through multidimensional, multifactorial and socially-oriented tests.

Thus, the success and achievements in the difficult matter of teaching and educating schoolchildren depends on the teacher's high cultural level and moral qualities, deep knowledge and skills. However, even this is usually not enough. It is necessary to have certain specific qualities of the person emotionally-volitional and mental spheres. These are pedagogical abilities, corresponding to the serious requirements of pedagogical activity.
