Patterns of pillows-owls. Pillow-toy with your own hands

Now more and more popular is the creation of various souvenirs and accessories for the interior. Try using ready-made patterns of pillows-owls to make an original decoration for your couch. Such a thing will be a great gift for any holiday.

Materials and Tools

To sew the same cute characters, you will need the following:

  • Patterns of pillows-owls;
  • Paper and a pencil or printer to print a ready-made template;
  • scissors;
  • Safety pins;
  • Fabric of any available shade or several colors;
  • Needle and thread;
  • sewing machine;
  • Sintepon or other filler;
  • Eyes and other decor (optional).

As you can see, nothing complicated is needed. If you do needlework, you probably already have everything you need.

How to sew an owl pillow

Any soft toys are made using a similar technology. If you have already done something like this, it will not be difficult to make this cute souvenir. The sequence of work will be like this.

  1. Build a pattern on paper. If you have a ready-made scheme-owl in electronic form, just print it out and cut it out.
  2. Pin the appropriate parts to the fabric and make the workpieces in the right amount.
  3. Fold the paired elements or one main front sides inside.
  4. Stitch or pre-sweep the seams, leaving a hole for filling.
  5. Turn the product to the front and fill it with sintepon.
  6. Sew the hole with a hidden seam.
  7. Sew additional items (if any), decorate the product.

By such a simple and understandable technology you can make a thing of any complexity.

Pillow with your own hands: pattern

At this stage of the work, you have two options:

  • Use a ready-made template;
  • Build the image yourself.

If you find your favorite scheme in electronic form, just print out the image of the appropriate dimensions or redraw from the monitor screen. The scale of the entire workpiece or its individual parts can be changed at your discretion. As a first experiment, it is better to take an average size, within 30 cm. Too small a product is difficult to perform, and a larger one will require more time and patience.

If you just have a picture of the finished thing before your eyes, correlate it with the existing schemes. Modify the template to the required form. In fact, building patterns yourself is not at all difficult, since all the details are usually symmetrical. In order to make a pillow base in the shape of a bird, on paper it is sufficient to have half of the workpiece, and then fold the material in half and pin the pattern along the fold line. By the way, after completing one workpiece, you can make many different options for souvenirs, changing the color and material of individual elements.

View ready-made templates

If you are new to sewing and needlework, take the simplest patterns of pillows-owls. One of the easiest options is shown in the following illustration.

To obtain a similar product, use one of the following blanks. As you can see, the pillow consists of several parts: the trunk, eyes with pupils, beak, wings and legs. Additional elements are usually tied with a zigzag seam over the base, while the wings and legs can be made separately, only the work will become somewhat more complicated.

Note that in the previous version, the body is constructed as one part with a closed contour, that is, it may well be asymmetric. If the left and right halves are the same, use the second pattern when the half of the part is applied to the fold line of the material.

For the simplest way of doing the product, use the previous workpiece, cut all the parts one by one, the trunk in two copies. Attach the elements from the front of the front part of the owl, and then perform the work in accordance with the technology described above.

The second option (the scheme above) will be more difficult, as it will be necessary to sew the paws separately. By the way, they, as well as the foundation, can be produced by volume, only two, but four parts, will be required. The same applies to the wings.

The third section in the section is characterized by proportions, as well as an additional decor. The details decorating the body can be stitched with tiers, then you will have an owl in a dress with collars. It will be especially nice to look, if these elements are made of light material and stitched only along the top edge. The effect of the volume of "clothes" will be created.

Flat pillows

The easiest way to sew an owl (pattern on the next photo) is to make a simple product consisting of two parts without additional elements.

In fact, you will need to make one seam. Wings, paws and other parts can be cut from fleece and sewed or even glued to the base. If it is made of the same material, then the pillow can be sewn on the front side, since the fleece does not require the processing of the edges. If you are building a pattern yourself, try to avoid sharp angles and shape transitions. Make the outline smooth. If this is not possible, for example, you want to show the carved form of the wings, before you turn the product out, carefully place small cuts in the seam allowances in the "dangerous" places. This will not allow the fabric to collect and crumple after being turned on the front side.

Volumetric owls

An original and beautiful pillow with your own hands (a pattern can be made with the help of the next photo) will be perfect if you put more effort and time. Here you actually will sew a soft toy, just the size corresponding to the pillow.

In this case it will be necessary to make many separate elements, and then combine them into a single whole. Such things look more impressive and original and can perform not only the functional role of the pillow on which lie, but also decorative or utilitarian, for example, to be a place for storing the remote from the TV.

So, you were presented with different patterns of pillows-owls and photos of ready-made products. Choose your favorite. Create beautiful accessories for your interior.
