The easiest way to buy a hanging chair in the store. It will be quality, with a guarantee and ... like the others. Another option is to make it yourself, or even better - together, with the whole family.

Such a process will certainly be creative, and most importantly - the chair will turn out to be original, made in accordance with personal wishes and conditions of use. The price of materials for its manufacture will not be exactly higher than the cost of purchasing a finished product, plus one can get experience and practical skills that will surely not be superfluous.

So, how to make a hanging chair with your own hands, what materials are needed for this, what skills can be useful?

Comfortable and useful design

A pendant, or "flying" chair, is a good place for rest, relaxation and relaxation. In it you can take a nap and meditate, forgetting for a while about everyday problems. For someone, such a place can become a center for generating new ideas and even a workplace. For children, it will definitely be a magnet, attracting attention, and for very young - a comfortable cradle.

Fresh air is useful for rest and work. In the garden in a hanging chair, fixed on a suitable branch, you can dream with your favorite book and even take a nap. A comfortable hammock or a wide swing seat for this will do just fine.

Armchair pendant, made by own hands, in any case will be useful. On the one hand, it will be used for its intended purpose and decorate the yard or room, and on the other - it will constantly remind you of the successfully realized idea and push the hosts to new creative victories.

Varieties and features

For the intended purpose, the suspended chairs can be divided into children's chairs, differing in smaller dimensions, design weight and safety factor, and universal ones, calculated also for the weight of an adult. It is possible to allocate also family designs, differing in even greater sizes and strength characteristics.

According to the installation method, the suspended chairs can be stationary, having a permanent attachment point, and removable. Such structures can easily be removed and suspended in another suitable place. They, as a rule, differ in simplicity of fastenings and ease of assembly. They can be quickly removed for the time of bad weather, after the picnic is over in nature or at the end of the season.

If desired, you can make a very simple hanging chair with your own hands. Photos of different types of constructions make it clear how different they are by the features of the structure and installation.

Materials

To make a round base, it's easiest to use fabric, willow rods or rope. The frame can be made by hand or used a gymnastic hoop. It is light, moderately strong and will certainly be suitable for a baby cradle or for a middle-aged child.

For older age or for adults, a round frame is best made from a plastic pipe for a water pipe. It can be bent into a circle of different diameters and connect with an insert of wood or plastic with additional fastening to bolts or screws.

To mount an armchair pendant, made by own hands, it is necessary reliably, with safety margin. To the ceiling, if there is no way to make a through hole, a metal ring or hook is mounted on the anchor bolts. For the convenience of fastening the sling you can use carabiners for mountaineering equipment. It is convenient to make the selection of the length of the sling by means of metal adjusting buckles.

Wicker chair

This design will be easy and practical. A round frame made of a metal-plastic pipe is suitable. It is bent by a ring of the correct diameter and fixed.

Then the whole surface of the pipe is braided with a cord. I'll have to get acquainted with the technique of weaving macrame. To create a grid use a flat knot "chessboard". The cord is tightened tightly, the sagging of the base will depend on this.

The second ring made of a metal-plastic pipe forms a backrest and handrails. In one place two rings are fastened with a cord. On the other hand, two wooden spacers are placed from the strips of the required length. At their ends make grooves along the diameter of the pipe and securely fasten the cord. These bars achieve consistency of the height of the backrest and the required rigidity of the structure. The space between the rings is also braided.

A wicker pendant chair, made by hand, is fixed to the ceiling on a secure bracket. For suspensions use a twisted rope or slings.

Swing armchair with own hands

Such a design, if you do not take into account a simple wide board, suspended on two ropes to a branch of the old tree, provides a stationary method of installation with concreting the base.

Guide racks are usually installed at an angle. And the more massive the base of the swing, the more it should be. Stands with additional spacers are more convenient to make metal, from pipes of a suitable diameter, but it is possible from a wooden bar. The bridge must withstand the design loads.

Suspensions for a swing often choose chain, they do not stretch and can be under the influence of moisture for a long time. The seat and the backrest are made of wooden boards of the required thickness. The stationary installation method assumes that there is a canopy to protect the seat from precipitation.

Often the swing is made with openwork rails, the strips are varnished or painted. Such pendant chairs have a presentable appearance and are often made for a family holiday.

Armchair hammock pendant

With his own hands it will not be difficult. To make it, you need a cut of a dense fabric about two meters, a strong twisted rope, a wooden bar about one meter long and 40-50 mm thick and a bracket for hanging.

For a simple version of the hammock, the side edges are tucked in order not to be sprinkled, and sew on the sewing machine (it is possible and manually, reinforced seam) to form a channel for rope pulling.

The bar serves to give the chair the necessary width. In it, closer to the edges on both sides, drill two holes with a diameter that allows to stretch the rope. In the outer holes, its ends are wound, knit along the locking knot, so that the bar does not fall.

Then the rope stretches through the channels formed along the edges of the fabric, and is wound into the free holes of the bar. Adjust the length of the edges, the tension under the load and knit fixing knots.

Such a simple hammock chair hanging with its own hands made of a piece of cloth and rope, hung on a hook, mounted in the ceiling.

Master class: a simple idea

Surely many in the country or in a country house have an old chair, transported from a city apartment after the acquisition of new furniture. It is more habitual and better to rest, it can be used for hanging.

When making a chair from scratch, two tasks arise. The first is to make a strong and comfortable place for sitting with a back, the second - to hang it, providing reliability. Using an old, time-tested chair, you can consider the first task completed and go directly to the second.

At this stage, you need to choose the type of mounting brackets, think through the right angle, select the material for the hangers. Well, decide how to pick up the chair so that it is both reliable and not critical for the wooden legs of the structure. By the way, they can and do not shoot, and hang it as is over the floor, raising it by 5-10 cm.

After this practice, making a chair hanging with your own hands completely from beginning to end will be much easier. Experience and knowledge gained during the installation of the suspended structure will certainly be useful and will serve as a guide for possible improvements and improvements. Materials of the old suspension can easily be adapted for a new base.

So you can double the original hanging chair with your own hands. Friends, acquaintances and neighbors will surely be pleasantly surprised by this non-standard and practical approach.
