Pediculosis: the incubation period of the disease

In the world there are a lot of different diseases. In this article, the story goes about what pediculosis is.

About the disease

This disease of the skin and hair of a person, which is caused by insects such as lice (Latin Pediculus). There are three large subspecies of parasites: the body (louse), head and pubic. The first species is more dangerous, because they live on the skin of a person and in clothing and can tolerate a variety of diseases, such as typhus or fever. The head louse lives in the human hair and is not a carrier of any disease. However, it brings quite a lot of inconvenience. The third kind of lice is transmitted during sexual intercourse.

How does the infection occur?

Where can I catch this disease? Practically in any place where there is a rather large crowd of people: schools and kindergartens, hospitals and hairdressers, baths and saunas. Parasites are transmitted from a sick person to a healthy one. One of the reasons for this disease is the failure to observe personal hygiene rules.

Incubation period: hair louse

So, after what time does infection with pediculosis occur? The incubation period can be quite different. It depends on what kind of lice a person has. If it is a head louse, then the period of its life from nits to adults is approximately 21 days, that is, three weeks. From this period, about 10-14 days, it takes for the larva to hatched from the egg. The rest of the time is necessary for the louse to reach sexual maturity. On average, such a parasite lives about 30-40 days.

Incubation period: louse

If a person has a pediculosis, the incubation period may be different. It depends on the temperature where the egg will ripen. If it is not too warm, the temperature is about 25-35 degrees Celsius, it will take about 5-15 days. If the place is warmer, stable 30 degrees, this time will be about 7-10 days, but without changing clothes and clothes. If the clothes were changed, the development of the larva can last up to about 6 weeks.

And about pubic lice

If a person has pubic pediculosis, the incubation period in the total number of days can be about three weeks. In this case, the nit will grow into a larva in about 5-10 days, and the sexual maturity of the individual will reach about a week (7-10 days). However, there is a nuance in which pubic pediculosis (the incubation period) can be delayed. The fact is that if a given parasite does not get food throughout the day, it can go into hibernation and last for about a month, after which its activity again resumes.

Fight

The most important indicator that a person has lice is an itch that occurs after a given parasite injects a specific liquid into the bloodstream. Therefore, immediately after the appearance of such a symptom it is necessary to begin treatment. What could it be? The fight against pediculosis should begin with strict adherence to the rules of personal hygiene. It is necessary to wash regularly, change bed and underwear, cut and comb your hair, clean the room. There are also various means of pediculosis, the price of which is not so great, it will roughly fluctuate in the amount of 10-20 dollars.
