Paper plastic is one of the modern art forms. It is a synthesis of various directions, such as modeling, applique, drawing, collage, construction of paper. It is a three-dimensional art form. The raw material, which is naturally flat, is given a more complex, three-dimensional shape. With applica- tion, the paper plastic is related to the fact that parts of the picture are cut from the paper, and then they are given a three-dimensional shape. The final assembly of the product is done using double-sided adhesive tape. With modeling this kind of art makes it necessary to manually change the shape of parts of the product, and with the drawing - the ability to finish and paint some elements of the product. For cutting out the component parts at the initial stage, ready-made patterns are used, and as experience accumulates, it will be possible to create own, interesting and unique ones. Used for this are ordinary office scissors, but it is easier to use a special paper knife. And in order to give the constituent parts the necessary volumetric form, use special tools. Often a combination of techniques such as paper plastic and paper twisting is used to produce a more complex product. Beginners can make, for example, a holiday card from colorful elements with images of flowers, birds, butterflies and so on.

How to make a simple postcard

First of all, you need to choose a postcard-basis. You can purchase a blank or cut it from a sheet of cardboard of the required color. Then, from the two-sided colored paper, the details of the future pattern are cut out.

For example, for a Christmas card in the style of "paper plastic", you can cut out three parts of the Christmas tree in the form of a triangle or cone. In the wide part, which will be directed downwards, it is necessary to make parallel incisions in order to obtain a lace fringe. It can be bent to give volume to the product. Then the parts of the composition should be fixed on the basis with a double-sided adhesive tape.

Decorative paper plastic in the design of premises

For the decoration of the interior is often used material, which is called "paper-laminated plastic." It is created by sintering at a temperature and high pressure of numerous layers of paper impregnated with a special solution. The result is a material that is different in color and pattern, durable, hygienic. Such decorative paper-laminated plastic allows you to create various three-dimensional volumetric forms.
