"Gazelle Next" appeared on the Russian market relatively recently. And if the last generation of "Gazelles" was characterized by a disgusting paint quality, then with the cars "Next" the situation is much better. The manufacturer changed the technology of applying enamels. And now the repeated painting "Gazelle Next" is required only in the case of an accident, or at the owner's own wish (suddenly the color did not like it). Now this service is represented by different workshops. However, the cost of painting "Gazelle Next" sometimes reaches up to one hundred thousand rubles. In today's article, we'll look at how to carry out this procedure with our own hands.

If there is a local painting, you can buy a regular can with the right shade of enamel (it is important that it corresponds to the factory code). However, in case of complete repainting, you should prepare more thoroughly. First of all, we need an atomizer, a compressor and a receiver with a volume of at least five liters. Also we need to purchase supplies. This very enamel, hardener, thinner, sandpaper, oilcloth, painting tape, scissors. Putty is purchased only if necessary.

The quality of the room will depend on the quality of the shaving on the new enamel. Painting (even local) should be done indoors. If the entire body is being processed, it is important to ensure a stable temperature in the box. It is desirable that it is not less than +20 degrees Celsius. If the work is done in the winter, you should ensure the forced heating of the room. This can be done with induction heaters. They are placed evenly on the walls. Only this way the paint will dry up as smoothly as possible. No work is done on the street or in the yard. The slightest dust will be clearly visible on the surface.

The code itself contains alphabetic values and consists of four characters. The first three are the number of the paint itself. "Gazelle Next" gray is designated EWPA. The last letter is a characteristic of the enamel. It can be of the following types:

• A - opaque, without varnish.
• B - the same, but with a varnish coating.
• C - metallized enamel.
• D - pearl paint with a varnish coating.

How many liters of enamel do you need to perform the work? If the scale of the operation - the entire cabin of the truck, you should buy 2 liters of paint and the same amount of hardener. For minivans from the series "Next" you need 2 times more material.

Preparation

After purchasing all materials, you should thoroughly wash the body. It is necessary to remove all dirt from the surface, including bituminous stains. Pay special attention to hidden places. This cavity at the thresholds, as well as the edges of the wings. If the enamel gets on a dirty surface, after the first washing it will peel off. Strong dirt is removed by white spirit.

Defect

Further we check the body for defects. It can be:

• Chipped.
• Large scratches.
• Sites with corrosion.

In the latter case, in addition to sandpaper, you should use a zinc converter. The defect is cleaned up to the metal. This is the only way to make sure the surface is clean. After all, rust often hides between the metal and the base layer of paint for many years. After stripping, it can be seen right away. Try to avoid major transitions. The surface must be as level as possible.

Align the sections

If the painting "Gazelle Next" is made after an accident, it is important to exclude all irregularities and dents. For this you can use the putty. It goes in a tin with the hardener. The latter should be mixed with the composition strictly according to the instructions, otherwise the putty will instantly wither. If you do not use hardener at all, then the layer will dry very long - more than a day. But during the repair you need to apply 3-5 thin layers at least. Only in this way the surface will be as close to the ideal as possible.

After mixing with the hardener, you need to try quickly, but neatly apply the compound to the dent. After 5 minutes, the putty will be hard, like granite. The superfluous layer is combed by a bar, wrapped in sandpaper. Repeat the procedure several times until the surface becomes flat.

Painting

If it is a bare metal, it should be primed before painting. Please note that only carefully cleaned surfaces are treated with earth. Do not apply it to enamel - it will not dry out. Primer serves for better adhesion of paint to metal. Apply only in one coat. Now, when the surface is carefully prepared, take the paint for "Gazelle Next", dilute with the hardener and fill into the spray gun. Then select the desired spray angle (first the maximum wide flame). In the beginning it is necessary to apply enamel only superficially. So we can eliminate unwanted streaks. The second layer will be more dense. The procedure should be repeated several times, periodically topping the enamel in the spray gun. And so on until the body gets a uniform shade. If desired, you can apply a layer of clear lacquer.

Completion of work

After painting, "Gazelle Next" should be in the same room for 3-5 days. Only after full drying, you can start to operate. High-pressure cleaning within a month is contraindicated.
