The Dolphinarium in Novosibirsk is scheduled to open in February 2015. On the construction will be spent about 400 million rubles.

The construction of this building began in 2014, by the end of which it is already planned to finish the construction of a dolphinarium in Novosibirsk.

Already, construction works are underway between the zoo and the arboretum. The approximate date for completion of construction is December 30, 2014. In January, the facility will be commissioned, and in February the first visitors will be able to visit the dolphinarium in Novosibirsk. The schedule of speeches, however, is not yet known. According to the project, this institution will have only nine pools: one for the performance, one for dolphin therapy, several for the maintenance and recreation of animals. The number of seats in the auditorium is 650.

Of the representatives of the fauna we will see: six bottlenose dolphins, one sea lion, five fur seals and six beluga whales. It is also reported that in the winter pavilion on the second floor there will be an aviary for animals and a botanical garden with artificial waterfalls.

On the territory of the dolphinarium is planned to build a three-story cafe for visitors, which will be equipped with a lift for the disabled. And on the territory of the zoo there will be several pavilions - for giraffes, for penguins and for small monkeys. The cost of the whole project will be more than 400 million rubles. Even the price of the ticket is 300 rubles.

Opponents of construction

The Dolphinarium in Novosibirsk has become the focus of public attention because of the conflict that flares up between the opponents of construction and those who believe that it is very necessary for the city.

Animal advocates argue that enclosed space harms dolphins, and because the establishment is far from the sea, it will be impossible to maintain the conditions of existence necessary for marine life in the basins. In response, the director of the zoo said that the swimming pools will use the most modern American equipment, and animals are completely safe. He also said that sea dwellers live longer in dolphinariums than in natural conditions, and multiply perfectly.

The opinion of knowledgeable people about the construction of the institution

Also in defense of construction, the deputy director of the Novosibirsk Zoo, Olga Shilo, also spoke. Dolphins like to communicate with people, especially with children, they live well and even breed in captivity. In zoos in North America, for example, four generations of dolphins were born. And the oldest of them is 54 years old.

The project of the dolphinarium is supported by the department of Rosprirodnadzor. We will be able to see animals that we do not normally see, and in the dolphinarium there will be therapeutic pools for children. This, without a doubt, is important for the citizens of Novosibirsk.

With all due respect to the feelings of animal advocates, I would like to note that the dolphinarium in Novosibirsk is a unique project, which will beautify the city, will bring a lot of joy to our children. Thanks to this construction, the entire area of the Zaeltsovsky Bor will be the winner, besides it will contribute to the development of an arboretum and a botanical garden. The green zone of 1.2 hectares will be a truly attractive part of the city.
