Norman Park is a professional fighter of mixed martial arts (MMA and UFC) from Northern Ireland, performing in light weight category (up to 70 kilograms). The soldier's statistics in mixed martial arts are the following: 23 wins (4 by KO), 6 losses and 1 draw. The Northern Irish fighter is the winner of the tournament The Smashes, held in 2012 in London. Since 2006 he has been playing in MMA. Fought under the umbrella of various promotions throughout Ireland and the mainland of the UK. In September 2016, the fighter began to cooperate with the organization of the DIA.

Norman Park: biography of a North Irish athlete

Born athlete December 22 in 1986 in the city of Bushmiles (County Antrim, Northern Ireland). He was brought up in a family of Protestant Unionists (a form of civil nationalism of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland). At the age of sixteen, Norman Park began to study judo. In this sporting discipline he became the national champion twice: in the period from 2009 to 2010 and from 2011 to 2012-th. Later, he began to study boxing, while studying in mixed martial arts.

Prior to signing the contract with the UFC Norman Park performed in the amateur league of the MMA, where he had statistics in 16 wins and 2 losses. Here he conceded only to the experienced soldier Gregory Lohran and the invincible Joseph Duffy.

Triumph in the tournament The Smashes

In December 2012, Norman Park signed a contract with The Smashes (a regional version of Ultimate Fighter, where British and Australian fighters compete). In the stage ¼ of the tournament he fought with Australian Ritchie Vakulik. During the battle Park constantly rushed to the "ground" and, once again being on top of the opponent, held a series of punches, after which Richie had the skin on the crown. However, the referee did not stop the fight. In the second round, Norman Park successfully attacked Richie and knocked him out. As a result, he secured a ticket to the semifinal of the tournament.

In the semi-final confrontation, the Park met British Brendan Lahnan. Here Norman won by the decision of the judges. In the finals, he fought against the British Colin Fletcher and won it on points in a 3-round bout.

February 27, 2016 in London at the tournament "UFC: Anderson Silva vs Michael Bisping" a battle took place between Russian Rustam Khabilov (Dagestan) and a fighter from Northern Ireland Norman Park. During the fight, the Russian athlete constantly dominated, but Park fought to the last, periodically "clinching" the opponent. As a result, Rustam Khabilov won the unanimous decision in the 3-round battle.
