Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. RE Alekseeva: departments, branches

The time of creation of the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University may well be considered 1898, and the place of the distant Polish capital is the city of Warsaw, where the Imperial Polytechnic Institute was opened.

Becoming

In 1915 the school was transferred to Moscow because of the approaching front line of the First World War, and in 1916 - to Nizhny Novgorod, into temporary premises. Here, a set was made, and out of four and a half thousand applicants began to study four hundred people. In 1918, by merging with other educational institutions, the Nizhny Novgorod State University was established, which included, besides the Polytechnic Institute, the People's University, agricultural courses, a pedagogical institute and medical courses. Total - six faculties: chemical, mechanical, construction, agronomical, pedagogical and medical.

Then, in 1930, instead of one heterogeneous university, six special ones were formed: engineering, construction, agriculture, pedagogy, medicine, chemistry, and mechanical engineering. Mechanics and Engineering Institute and became the foundation for the formation of the university, which today is the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. Then there were six specializations in the technical department, four - in the design and mechanical, two - in the shipbuilding. There were five departments in the chemical technology institute: skin cover technologies (wool, leather), silicate technologies, wood chemistry, fats and oils, and the foundations of the chemical industry.

Reorganization

The future Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University actively develops its departments until 1933, whereby the departments are abolished and the faculties are formed: industrial-machine building, shipbuilding and technology. And in 1932 HTI and MMI are united in the Industrial Institute of the city of Gorky (GII). Faculties: general engineering, chemical engineering, transport engineering and mechanical and technological.

In 1936, a radio faculty was opened in the GII, and the transport and machine building was transformed into shipbuilding. In 1938, a postgraduate course was opened. In 1939, the automotive (auto mechanics) faculty was opened and general engineering was abolished, as students began to specialize directly from the first year. From the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology in 1940, a new faculty was separated: forging and pressing equipment.

War

The war took away two-thirds of the personnel, nearly five hundred people were killed in battle, and six hundred students left the walls of the institute in the very first days. The rest of the teachers, students and employees built defensive fortifications, worked in workshops and laboratories, carrying out research for the defense industry.

For participation in project and scientific work, three hundred people were awarded government awards. The students simultaneously studied and worked at defense enterprises. Heavy years were marked by a great victory, an enormous contribution to which was made by the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University.

Postwar years

In 1947, the reorganization was again carried out: the radio department was transformed into an electrotechnical department with two specialties: electronics and radio engineering. The mechanical faculty combined three - forge-press, auto-mechanical and mechanical-technological. In 1950, the GII became known as the Gorky Polytechnic Institute. At the same time the metallurgical faculty was organized, the radio engineering department separated from the electrotechnical department.

In 1953, the first branch was opened - Sormovsky, and in 1956 the second - Dzerzhinsky. In 1958 the machine-building faculty was created. In 1959, the GPI acquired a training base - the Foundry-Mechanical Plant. In 1962, the Faculty of Physics and Technology was opened. In ten years the radio engineering faculty has been transformed into modern - radio electronics and cybernetics. In 1980 the GUI received the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. In 1992, the university was renamed the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University.

Nowadays

In 1993, NSTU acquires the socio-economic faculty. In 2007, on the orders of the Federal Agency, NSTU was named: Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. RE Alekseeva. The history of this glorious university is far from over. Everything that is happening today will inevitably soon become a story that will be filled with new achievements.

The development of the educational institution is not completed, the work moves systematically. Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. Today Alexeyeva has nine scientific research institutes and faculties, five large and well-equipped branches: Arzamas, Dzerzhinsky, Vyksunsky, Zavolzhsky and Pavlovsky.

ITS

The department of the NSTU - the Institute of Transport Systems is dynamically developing, which was created by the merger of the Faculty of Aviation and Marine Engineering and Automobile Faculty. Since 1921 (from the creation), more than twenty-seven thousand high-quality specialists have prepared and started working for the country's benefit, including outstanding figures of science and technology, teachers of higher education, major managers of industry, transport, and educational and scientific organizations.

IRIT

Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. Alekseeva has for seventy years already included in its structure an educational and scientific division: an institute that deals with radio electronics and information technologies. His experience is vast and diverse, recognized abroad.

The training of both engineering and scientific staff is very high in this institute: among the graduates there are seven laureates of the Lenin Prize, more than fifty laureates of the State Prize, dozens of doctors of sciences and many hundreds of candidates of science. The leadership of the scientific and engineering staff of the largest scientific research institutes in the field is very much staffed by specialists who received their education here, within the walls of IRIT NSTU. Since then, the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University has long been famous for its remarkably well-trained staff.

Dzerzhinsky Polytechnic Institute

In 1974, an order was signed to establish a branch of the State Investment Fund in the city of Dzerzhinsk, and in 2004 the branch was renamed. The history of DPI is tightly connected with the life activity of the country and, of course, with the history of the head university. Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after Alekseev participated in the construction of chemical enterprises, in many military-defense orders, in the formation of machine building in the country.

Scientific research institutes were created, the chemical industry developed. I could not stay away from the pressing problems of Russia and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. Dzerzhinsky branch is a glorious page of NSTU history.

Address preparation

The basic department of DPI is engaged in chemistry and technology of organic nitrogen compounds. It was created to train specialists for strategic partners - GosNII "Kristalla" and FSUE "Sverdlov Plant" for additional coordinated programs. Another basic department of "Modern Applied Programming Technologies" works for targeted training of highly qualified specialists in Mera Nizhny Novgorod LLC, deepening and expanding educational, scientific and production ties. The third basic department of "Power Supply: Design and Automation" is the integrated structure of the two departments of the DPI ("Physics and Electrical Engineering" and "Automation and Information Systems") and OJSC "NIPOM" ("Research Enterprise of General Mechanical Engineering").

In addition, there are departments in DPI: "Chemical technology", "Technologies and equipment of chemical and food production", "Automation, transport and information systems", "Energy, economy, applied mathematics", "Humanities disciplines". Here specialists are trained, which the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University is proud of: the departments are well equipped with highly qualified specialists and have an excellent modern technical base.

AF NSTU

The branch in Arzamas has existed since 1968, it was created on the basis of a consulting office and an evening faculty. The school was planned as a branch of the MAI. However, despite all the reconstruction and renaming, the main task of the branch has never changed: engineers are trained here for radio engineering, aircraft and engineering specialties for the entire Volga-Vyatka region, for the enterprises of the Gorky Region and Arzamas in particular.

From the very beginning, even at the evening department, there were only two hundred and twenty-five students who were taught by twenty teachers. Now the students are two and a half thousand, but every graduate still treasures Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. The Arzamas branch has two large faculties, a preparatory department and the Center for Educational Services. Training day, evening and correspondence. Eighty teachers are taught, among them five professors, more than forty candidates and doctors of science.
