Modern sofa: overview, models, types and reviews

Today, the design of the premises is given much more attention than a few decades ago. At the same time, not only the appearance of the premises, the style of decoration and decoration of rooms, but also the interior is carefully chosen. And a big role in it is played by a modern sofa. His species are so many now and they are so different that you can easily get lost. The sofas are straight, modern, in retro style, babies - they all serve one purpose: to make your life comfortable. We will try to highlight in the article all the variants of this piece of furniture for those people who face the choice of the model.

Classification

The sofa in the modern interior plays a leading role. It is based on his choice, select the remaining details. To properly choose a sofa for your room, you need to study all the models, taking into account the features of your room, the size of the room and the purpose. Modern variants can be classified into four categories:

  1. Depending on which folding mechanism is used for the structure.
  2. Features of form and design are taken into account.
  3. There are different styles, relying on the appointment of the room.
  4. Consider the size of the sofa and the number of people who can safely fit on it.

Consider each category separately, so that the user can easily represent the diversity of species and models.

Feature of forms

In terms of shapes, the sofas can be:

  • Angular;
  • Direct;
  • Island.

The most famous and familiar to us since the Soviet times are the sofas direct. Modern methods of skinning and decorating such variants do not make them very different from those models that we have known for a long time. Another kind, and no less familiar, is used mainly for furnishing the living room. These are modern corner sofas, or "corners", as they are called in the people. Very comfortable type, but not suitable for every room. Their main advantage is the economy of space with a sufficiently large capacity. And the last, more modern type is the island sofas. Such models do not put near the wall, they need a lot of free space, and the design of the room must match, otherwise the sofa will look ridiculous.

What are we looking for?

From what room we are looking for a sofa, its model and style depend. So, for example, a modern sofa in the living room can look different than for a children's room or office. You should understand that the models are very different, and before you buy one of them, study all possible options. Developers of the model range differentiate the models into those that can stand:

  • in the office;
  • in the hall;
  • in the living room;
  • in the kitchen;
  • In the nursery.

There are, of course, universal options that can be put in the office and in the hallway of the house, but basically all models are clearly designed in accordance with the purpose. Bright colors of children's sofas are difficult to confuse with the official style of leather or kozhzama office model. Also, models for functional rooms are lined with a material that is easier to clean. So this point also can not be ignored.

Dimensions

The modern sofa is available in different sizes, and it depends on you on which model to stop the selection. Given the peculiarity of your room, choose the most comfortable size. The sofa should not take up too much space and interfere, but too little option will not be of any use. Therefore, carefully think over all the nuances before buying. If in Soviet times there were some standards in size, now there is no restriction on the length or width of the models. Each manufacturer produces such variants of sofas, which he considers necessary. All that can be said for this category is that there are small sofas designed for two or three people, and there are large ones for five or more persons. In this case, the two-seater model can have a length of 1.4 meters, and maybe - 1.8 meters. So take the roulette, the imagination and go!

And now we would like to dwell in more detail on some models of sofas that use different folding mechanisms. If the purpose, shape and size are clear, then the mechanisms are different. Here you need to clearly imagine how your option will be understood, so as not to get into a mess. Otherwise, you may find yourself in a situation where your sofa is dismantled, resting against a wall, or it simply can not be dismantled for lack of space. In the store, of course, you can expand and look at the whole process, but ordering through the Internet, you can be very mistaken. We present to you the main types of mechanisms.

Models "book", "eurobook", "classical sofa", "puma"

Even a simple sofa, modern style of which is properly chosen, will be an ornament of any room. These four models are considered classic and simplest.

  • "Book". Suitable for both living room and bedroom. Dimensions allow you to use it as a bed. It unfolds very simply, by raising the front part to a sound resembling a click, and then lowering it to the very bottom. To the sofa stood in the unfolded form close to the wall, it needs a little to move.
  • "Eurobook". Excellent for older people, because it is easy to decompose. Pulling on the front part, roll it forward. After that, we just drop the dump into an empty space.
  • «Classical Sofa». This model is similar to the previous one. Only in this case does not fold back, and the seat itself. The advantage is the presence in the couch of a large storage box.
  • The Puma. The basis for the model was the "eurobook" variant. The difference is that the front of the sofa does not roll out, but stretches. After that the opened emptiness is covered with a back back.

Changing over the years and undergoing modifications, the sofa gets a modern design. All new and new models are presented to buyers. The following options are considered newer.

Models "dolphin", "roll-out", "clamshell", "accordion"

  • "Dolphin". The name of the model comes from the way the folding procedure looks. Reminiscent of dolphin diving into the water. Pulling one part of the sofa by the loop, pull it out to the level with the main part. After that, taking another loop on the corresponding part, pull out the hidden part of the seat and get a large and comfortable sofa.
  • "Leave out." Already by the name it is clear that the front part is rolled out forward. It reminiscent of the "classic sofa" model, but in this model, the upper part unfolds in the opposite direction.
  • "Cot". The model resembles a standard clamshell, familiar to us from Soviet times. Removing the pillows, you simply lay the model forward, while you need to consider that you will sleep perpendicular to the wall. For such a sofa you need enough space for unfolding.
  • "Accordion". Combines the "pull-out" and "folding" models. In this case, picking up the loop, you simultaneously roll out and lay out the sleeping part of the sofa, which resembles a game on an accordion.

Models "pantograph", "click-clack", "tick-tak", "lit"

Already by the name we can assume that these mechanisms were the latest. And although their names are not familiar to us, the principle of action has been known for a long time.

  • "Click-clack". A modern sofa that has several variants of intermediate positions: sitting, half sitting, lying, lying. The procedure for unfolding is simple. You need to tilt the couch back, and return only the front part.
  • "Pantograph". Reminds the option "eurobook", but in this case the model does not use a roller mechanism, and the front part does not touch the floor after unfolding. This creates a feeling of lightness.
  • "Tick-on". The model is a mixture of models "dolphin" and "rollout". Only the front part is laid out, correspondingly, compared with the main seat, while the sliding mechanism is used, and not the folding mechanism.
  • "Lit". Used most often for children, as the model turns into a single bed due to the unfolding armrests. At the same time, it is possible to decompose incompletely, making a semi-sitting option.

Reviews

The choice of the model depends entirely on the taste and preferences of the buyer. Having studied many reviews, we came to the conclusion that all variants are distinctive and have their advantages. Much of the choice depends on the manufacturer's reliability. Often people complain that in the process of using machines break down, the frame breaks, the sheathing bursts. Having bought a cheap sofa, it is difficult to count on his long-term service. Therefore, before making a choice, think, weigh all the pros and cons and only then make the final decision.
