Michael Moore is a political activist, journalist, writer, satirist by vocation and with experience, American documentary filmmaker who made 11 films that differ in their capacity to criticize the American way of life and US foreign policy.

Michael Moore was born in the provincial American town of Michigan called Flint on April 23, 1954. He started his education in one of the local universities, simultaneously building a career as a journalist. After some time he managed to organize the release of the independent local weekly "Voice Flint", where he was listed as editor in chief from 1976 to 1986. But the movie did not bother the original, so in order to shoot his debut film, Michael Moore rebuilt his home to a club for bingo.

Debut

The first documentary tape "Roger and I" (1989) covered the events of the local social disaster that occurred in Flint after the closure of local subsidiaries of the corporation "General Motors". With his weapon of influence, director Michael Moore chose a sharp satire. And using the original editing, he achieved the desired comic effect. The whole originality of editing consisted in the fact that the frames of the documentary chronicles alternated with inserts from fragments of television advertising and episodes of second-rate paintings. The substantial box office receipts received after the project's release in hire made the critics pay attention not only to the director-debutant, but also to the genre of sharply social documentaries.

"Bowling for Columbine"

In his subsequent works, which also belonged to the genre of acute political and social satire, the director mercilessly criticized American politicians and, in general, the capitalist system, the processes of globalization and corporations in particular, and neoliberalism. The most resonant project director, according to critics, is considered the film "Bowling for Columbine", which won the "Oscar" in the category "Best documentary." The main problem that Michael Moore highlights in the film is armed violence in the United States. Arguing about the direct relationship between fear and violence, the author asks why in America deaths caused by the direct use of firearms are much greater than in other states. The motivation for the creation of the tape was the terrible events that took place at the Columbine School of Colorado on April 20, 1999. Then a pair of high school students Eric Harris and Dylan Klibold, armed with, organized a slaughterhouse in the school, as a result of the shootings they organized, the students and teachers of the school were injured, 37 people were wounded, 13 of them were killed from the injuries. After the deceased, the children committed suicide and shot themselves. These tragic events and highlighted in his work, Michael Moore. Fahrenheit 9/11

But before these paintings, Michael Moore received in 2004 at the Cannes Festival "Golden Palm Branch" for the project "Fahrenheit 9/11", and a little later 22 more awards of famous film reviews. In this work, the director told the public about the events of September 11, 2001 and the origins of terrorism. This political pamphlet-investigation was positioned as a revelation of the policy of President George W. Bush. The narrative contained some facts and assumptions about how the ex-businessman-oilman from Texas managed to come to the organs of higher power dishonestly and how he used power solely for his own mercenary purposes. The film caused an unprecedented wave of genuine excitement in the United States and the world, only Michael Moore could take such political pathos. "Fahrenheit 9/11" is inferior to previous works from an artistic point of view, but it is a model of author's ingenuity and creative avatability.

Two prizes of the film festival for "The History of Love"

Last his project "Capitalism: Love Story" (2009), Moore took off before a long creative break, which lasted six years. In it, the author undertook to study and analyze the root causes of the global financial crisis. The picture will tell about the manipulation of the money of American taxpayers, facts will be cited, exposing various banks, corporations, politicians and individual top managers, who, according to Moore, committed the largest robbery and went unpunished.
